Bad programmers? Maybe not. Some (mainly older) browsers don't display PNGs correctly. We used to not use them at all. Now we use them but only when we need to.

I can think of things that are far worst. I kind of look at it a different way. I look at using a ".com" next to your logo as just another way to promote your website. And I personally don't see any problem with that. Sure you can Google that company's name, but... I don't see the addition...

The point is this: You don't like these sites? Fine. What are you going to do about it? You have no control over your competition and how they market themselves and how they price out their work. So forget about them for a second. You can't control how people seek out services. So forget...

Certain effects like transparencies, lenses, drop shadows etc... don't transfer over well from certain programs to others. You may need to flatten the image into a raster image, or make the object transparent after you open it in flexi.
