Find a local tech college and take a basic Illustrator and Photoshop class. It will be time and money well spent. Other than that do like Gino said. Focus on a niche and learn all you can. Also don't be afraid to make mistakes. I've been at this over 25 years and still screw stuff up from...
Find a machine shop and have them make aluminum bushings. They can make them with a press fit so you don't have to mess with glue or mechanical fasteners.
I've sprayed different types of clear over laminated and unlaminated vinyl with no failures. Sent out a lot of motorcycle tank graphics that got cleared over and I had no idea what they used, but it must have worked. No call backs stating there was a failure.
Best thing is to test a...
For all my spray guns I run a 1/2" I.D. line. Spray guns are dependent on volume more than pressure. Base settings vary from gun to gun. For my big HVLP's I typically run 80psi to the regulator on the gun. I turn that regulator down to 20 to 24psi depending on material, e.g. base or clear...
Hmmmm...I'd laminate with the whole graphic with matte, install, then spray automotive clear for the transition. Matte lam would give some "tooth" for the clear.
I think this would work. Before the advent of digital printing I would airbrush on vinyl and clear coat. I'd also convert my own...
Nothing should be glued. Only thing I can think of is something got hooked on the cables and pulled them creating extra slack. I know when I replaced the ribbon cables I manually moved the carriage to check for proper "looping" of the cables. I spent about 15 minutes making sure it was right...
This information is based on my SP540V, but your's looks very similar.
There are plastic hold downs for the cables. They are held in by tiny plastic pins/rivets. Looks like they came undone causing your issue. You can order those bits from a Roland dealer.
You will also have to set the...
Good for you. Honestly, all people look at is how much money you get. But money doesn't get rid of the injuries that cause lifelong complications. Hard to compensate someone for a lifetime of pain.
Hope you didn't sign anything. Getting smacked that hard can cause problems later on. I know because it happened to me and the guy was going about 25mph. I felt fine until a couple days later. Must have been the adrenaline. Back and neck problems were the main injuries.
If it's not your main line of business do what I do. I cut the mask and bring it to the monument place down the street. They ask how deep, texture etc...next day I pick up the finished work. Best part is they get to deal with the specialized equipment and mess.
For critical work we run "superhero" black on our Roland. 30,30,30,100 For some jobs we run Max Impact setting. You can also click the properties tab within the color management window and check Vw calls the matching method. Perceptual is supposed to mimic human vision.
I used banner tape and stuck suede microfiber to some squeegees. Gave them to my installer friend. Will have to ask if he's used them and what he thinks.
I didn't come up with the idea. Someone on this forum did. If it works it's a dirt cheap solution.
What type of material are they being attached to? In my factory days we would use drive screws to attach tags/plates to equipment. Drive screws or rivets you still need to drill holes into the substrate, but you only need a small hammer to install the drive screws...
