While I love talking with all of you wonderful people, email is superior when it comes to tech support at least. I can handle multiple customers at a time and it keeps track of everything we've talked about. A picture can do more to help than 10 phone conversations. It also gives me a chance to...
Go into your default job settings window in production manager and set the little man icon to show him upright. Then click the "Set Defaults" button in the bottom right corner. That will make sure every job you bring in will be set to the original orientation. I bet it just got clicked by accident.
In the layout screen there is a little button with the image of a little man on it. That is how you rotate the image. Flexi just uses the last one you chose so sometimes it's not the right orientation.
Yes. All 1204 main boards are the same. From what I can tell, all the different models of the 1204 have to do with who or where they were sold rather than any physical differences other than the very rare Vj1204B that printed directly to pre-hemmed and grommeted banner but even that one had the...
When you replaced the primary filter, did you attach the supply side, pull ink into the filter with a syringe, and then attach it to the pump side? If not, you probably have a giant bubble in the line that is preventing ink flow which an air purge wouldn't necessarily purge since it's so deep in...
Main board. That error specifically means one or more of the transistors that amplify the head signal is overheating. If you can find someone who does component level repairs they might be able to fix it. otherwise a new main board is due. It's about $1000.
Make a sport color in illustrator named, "CutContour" and the RIP will see it. I prefer that way actually. FineCut does a fine job and has other tools that can be useful but the sport color method is just easy and fast in my opinion. There is also "HalfCut" for perf cuts.
I usually see that pattern when the profile is laying too much ink down, the heat isn't high enough, or the vinyl simply can't take the ink properly. Since this vinyl is not meant for printing I would say it's probably just the vinyl. Different colors have different pigments and can react...
Either your head is slanted or the Y bar had been bent. You probably just need to run the head slant in service mode. It's a physical alignment so either it was always out of whack or recently you had a nasty head strike and knocked it out of whack.
If it's a bent Y bard it's basically like a...
If magenta is getting pulled up into the yellow line, it means there is an air leak in the yellow line and/or the yellow cartridge is empty and not flagging. I would double check your oring between the damper and ink line. You also just might have a defective damper. They are made in the 10s of...
I'd say you're looking for a Chinese plotter on Ebay then. Not all are bad and most are not as long lasting as the "name" brands but it sounds like you won't be doing full time sign jobs so you don't need it to be as rugged.
I looked in the dealer portal for the ink change procedure but I didn't find one. I have done this conversion on JFX200 machines which use the same head system and ink. In that case Mimaki requires you basically change everything out that touches the ink and flush the system. So bottle holder...
