  2. Océ 1200 vs hp fb550

Doug, The 200 series & 300 series are much older now and i wouldn't use them to compare with with the much newer Oce flatbeds. Although a lot of people still use and like the 300 series. the 200 series is nearly 8 years old.. I have a 400 series, and it's the next model up from the 300 series...

The service agreement is a load of crap. However i am on a contract with them to keep the software upto date. still waiting for 12.1 .... Anyway your issue, Have you tried to put the key into a different port? When i tried reinstalling onyx x12 it didn't recognise the key but once i changed...

I rather this layout. All the info is on the left. Like most other forums.
  6. Need Help photos on wood

A flatbed printer would get the best results.
  7. color profiling with flexi cloud

Yes you have to do all measurements exactly the way it will be viewed as the final product. Even for ink linearisations or restrictions.
  8. Océ 1200 vs hp fb550

Oce over the HP. The OCE is a true flat bed while the HP is a hybrid. Can't say to much more as i never used the HP, but my Oce is outstanding. I used mine for fine art photography prints on glass. So doing that on acrylic isn't a problem.
  9. Onyx X10 Layout Tool slow

I don't have any EXP with Jaws engine. I use thrive with Adobe Engine. Do you get any error messages anywhere? try going to (C:)/program files/thrive (or onyx ect)/Work and delete all the files in there. one could be corrupt and causing issues.
  10. Creating or canned ICC profiles? (poll)

Just curious on how many people actually create ICC profiles for their machines Vs how many people used Canned or Generic profiles?
  11. Printing profile for OCE backlit film for Roland-xj740

  12. Onyx X10 Layout Tool slow

    Job editor/preflight? or layout tool?
  13. Onyx Job Not Printing After Ripped?

People need to stop knocking onyx. It's actually a good piece of software if used correctly. Great colour management tools. Job editor has great tools. There's nothing in there i wish i ever needed. X12 (or 12.1) is a good upgrade from x10. Glad you found your issue. I've had something...

  15. Onyx RIP Center Mutoh Edition Build 10.0.0.89 - Issue with Printing Gray

If you're using a canned profile (came with the printer/software - onyx) well then i don't expect you to get good blacks.
  16. Onyx RIP Center Mutoh Edition Build 10.0.0.89 - Issue with Printing Gray

If you turn all ICC profiles off, that means you're just printing with black ink which is great for pure grey scale. But not so great as it can cause grainy print and easier to see banding. have you made a profile or using canned ones?
  17. Can anyone produce road signs?

All around victoria all reflective signs are screen printed onto 3m reflective adhesive then stuck onto either corflute for temp signage or sheets of steel for preeminent signs. There are other brands, but they're not approved or correspond to the regulations. It can be printed, but there's...
  18. Can anyone produce road signs?

They're screen printed with certain inks/paints so they don't fade. Reflective have to comply with code.
  19. UV Printing... With torches??

I understand where you're coming from. But have not heard of this. Some of my substrates that have low UV adhesion come in a "digital" version for printing that allow the UV ink to stick to it. Maybe this has had something similar done to it. no idea. but interesting.
