  1. Made in the USA vs. .....

As with Mike and DF, I only use 18oz Bantex for street banners. I also like their 13oz curl free for certain applications. However, I've returned more Bantex stock for refund in the last 18 months than I have the previous 10 years. Actually I don't remember ever having to send a roll back...
  2. Where can i get dry erase vinyl in just a 4x8 sheet?

I agree. Been using Oraguard 210 gloss as a dry erase for years with no complaints.
  3. Dehumidifier

We run 2 65 pint dehumidifiers in the summer and 3 humidifiers in the winter to keep the shop at 40 to 45% year round. It eliminates a ton of issues having a consistent environment.

Hello Friends and Neighbors! Anyone have a good source for 60x120 sheets of .030 Black Styrene? I can get it from either Midwest or Laird, but with a skid minimum (188 for MW, 120 for Laird). I need 25 or 30 sheets. Thanks in advance, Donny
  7. RAPTURE update

Then I think, wait a minute, what if it happened, all the good Christens are gone and the rest of us are screwed. I thought I was one of the good ones, but as I look around I see I'm in good company. Maybe the Mayans guessed it right with 2012. The anticipation is killing me...

Looks to me like a market tester for an actual flatbed. Roland, give me a real 4x8 flatbed with twice the speed for the same price and I'll take a very hard look...
  9. HP 8000s purchase questions

I'm not sure what the $1500 kit is for. I would load in new cartridges and do an initial fill. Same thing that's done when it's a brand new set up. One thing I forgot to mention, it does take a bit of time to get the heads and sub tanks warmed up on a cold morning. I would usually walk...
  10. HP 8000s purchase questions

    1. I having a hard time finding pricing to compare this to. It seems like an ok price but I wanted someone elses opinion. THAT'S ACTUALLY A PRETTY GOOD PRICE IF THE HEADS ARE GOOD / ALL THE NOZZLES ARE FIRING. IF IT HASN'T BEEN DONE SINCE NEW, BE PREPARED TO REPLACE THE FILTERS IN THE...
  11. $75,000

Another stellar example of bureaucracy at it's finest.
  12. 2 sided on a Latex printer.

Thanks Josh. Yes, I am a in that users group. I spent an hour or so last night trying to see if there was anything posted pertaining to 2 sided stuff. I'll post my question there when I have a moment. Still leaning towards the HP regardless, alway nice to expand your capabilities.
  13. 2 sided on a Latex printer.

Has anyone out there with a L25500 done any 2 sided printing on their machine? Looking at either adding another GS6000 or a L25500. My Epson if fine, but I may get some other capabilities out of the Latex that my GS can't do, mainly acceptable fabric prints. Latex samples I've seen are above...
  14. Reverse stickers

If you have a solvent printer, laminator and plotter with mark reading capabilities, you can do this in house fairly easily. Do it all the time here.
  15. Solvent printable matte canvas

I use Bantex 13 oz (about $.45 per sq') for premium banners and Key Banner 13 oz (Grimco $.21 per sq') for the everyday stuff. Both are available in Matte finish and both print very nice on my GS6000.

  17. Font ID Please

Anyone know what font this is? Looks like a rough Garamond, but not quite. Appreciated, Donny
  18. GS6000 New Cartridge Shows 1%

So I have a full roll to print with quite a bit of black. My blk cartridge is at 2%, so I decide to replace it with a new one fresh out of the box/bag and go home. Put the new cartridge in and the ink level is flashing at 1%. I've reinstalled the cartridge and restarted the printer to no avail...
  19. How beer saved the world.

Saw it as well. I really want to try that 3000 year old Egyptian recipe made in a clay pot. Just to see what kind of swill they were willing to choke down for a bit of the happy mood. Who knows, might be damn tasty...
  20. Giant novelty check/cheque

Ha that's funny. Last week I was asked to make 10 4' checks, and I thought to myself "do I spend an hour looking on the web, or make it in Illustrator". I used my business check for reference and made one up. It took all of 20 minutes to get it done... Use the Force Luke....
