  3. have you ever laminated a scrim banner?

We use Clearstar on all of the pole banners we do. All printed on 18oz Bantex. To answer the question of why you would laminate a banner, we warranty our pole banners to the municipalities for 3 years. We used to laminate with a film, but had some issues with peeling at the edges after 18 months...

  5. Digital prints onto plexiglass

Big bubble you see as you laminate are most likely due to low spots if it's cast acrylic. Small bubbles that appear awhile after laminating is outgassing. For outgassing, I like to peel the sheet and cover it with a polyester cloth (to keep dust off) and let it gas out for a few days.

  8. Your thoughts of new Epson's SureColor wide format printer.

It looks to me that Epson abandoned the Mutoh platform and designed their own.
  9. Working Late

True, one little fly in the ointment and it's back to stress city. Still, I wouldn't do it if I didn't love it.
  10. Working Late

"Let's see if you feel the same way in another twenty years!" 20 years from now? Hopefully the wife and I will be on a beach in Belize. I've already been doing this for 27 years. "and 8:15? That's early. Last week I was working til 4AM for days in a row!" Last week I put in 70 hours...
  11. Working Late

Sitting here at the shop at 8:15 pm. All 3 printers are running, the laminator is running roll to roll and the Summa is chugging away. Life doesn't get much better than this for a print junkie...:rock-n-roll:
  12. Why doesn't the GS6000 allow feeding backwards?

Ditto on what Case said. You could try backing it up and then holding down the pause button to reset the machine, not sure if that will reset the origin, but worth a try.
  13. How do you hang your sintra prints?

Tyrant, That's called a French Cleat. We use them a lot. If you use a set of cleats top and bottom, instead of a spacer at the bottom, you have a panel that can't be lifted off. You slide the panel on from the side. Only works if there is enough space, obviously. Museums love this set up.
  14. Mimaki Flatbed Cutters

Users, Merchant members and Vendors, Does anyone have any experience with the Mimaki CF3 flatbed cutters? I would love to have a flatbed UV in house, however, I feel that I can do just about all of my required rigid needs (and still stay fairly competitive) by printing on roll stock and...

  19. What computer should I get?

I don't know Richard it was pretty easy to get exactly what I wanted. Start with a base machine and add what you. I just added components in Tiger to match what I bought in the Dell. Take away the extended warranty from Dell and there's less than $100 difference. If you can figure out a way to...
  20. What computer should I get?

Last month I bought a Dell XPS 8300. I7 2600, 12GB of ram, 2TB hard drive, AMD Radeon 6770 with a 23" HD display. $1500 total with shipping. Using this as a RIP station running Onyx Production House and Ergosoft. It also has PhotoShop loaded so we can do quick touch ups without going back to one...
