I hate windows as well. Matter of fact we are an all Apple shop except for our three RIP computers which I despise but if you what you say is true about 7 that will certainly help. I've always run XP when I could because that was most stable for me then I bought this computer with that poor...

  9. What are using using to RIP to your Mimaki JV3 SPII (Firewire) isses

CJ, I started with a PC that I installed RasterLink II on and a Texas Instruments Firewire card per my tech at Advantage. Have had this problem since about 4 years ago. I just upgrade to a new Gateway computer hich has way more power than needed per specs with onboard Firewire and I installed...
  10. What are using using to RIP to your Mimaki JV3 SPII (Firewire) isses

Mike, If you can find out what version or email it that would be awesome! Either way I would love to try it to see if it will help. My biz partner has the JV33 and yes, it makes the JV3 look like a turd in terms of performance and usability. I printed a bunch of stuff with it over the weekend...
  11. What are using using to RIP to your Mimaki JV3 SPII (Firewire) isses

Ok, So I have been battling this Mimaki JV3 and the Firewire for 4 years with error 10's to no avail. I have tried different computers, RIP Software, Firewire cards, Firewire cables everything you could imagine. Nobody knows or is able to fix it from my techs to Mimaki. It has gotten out of...
  12. Absentee owner

While yes it is a silly story that doesn't really have a point I fail to see any racism in it. Some damn people need to lighten up, my god better call Jesse and Al to take care of it! I mean seriously guys? Not much going on today? Thanks, Kurt
  13. Ripping on a MAC - what software you using?

How about installing it with a print server? Anyone have any idea how that is done? The reason I am going through all of this is because I keep getting error 10 code constantly and am wasting, time, ink and vinyl at a rapid pace. I am sick of it. Needless to say I have tried several different...

  15. Ripping on a MAC - what software you using?

Does Fusion support Firewire? I am not married to Parallels I just tried that as an option. Otherwise in Parallels I am trying to do what you suggested but there is no option for Firewire. I was told Parallels doesn't support firewire. Is this the workaround for this? Any more info is greatly...
  16. Ripping on a MAC - what software you using?

So I installed Parallels on my computer hoping to install either Onyx or RasterLink on it but it doesn't support Firewire. Of course it supports everything else but this damn JV3 I have is Firewire, which is the cause of much of my problems anyways. Anyone know a way to get around the Firewire...
  17. Any idea what this stuff is worth?

Are you buying your equipment direct from China or something? The printer alone for parts is worth at least $3,000. I was offered $3,000 for the cutter as well. Just curious if any other have come across this stuff and pricing for it. Thanks, Kurt
  18. Any idea what this stuff is worth?

I have a Mimaki JV3 75SPII 30" printer that runs well and fires great, prints really well. I have Onyx 7.0 as well as RasterLink 2 to go along with it. Also have a Graphtec FC7000 54" cutter and a GBC Artic Titan Laminator (64") All of this stuff is in great shape has been well cared for and...
  19. newbie needs small text capability--plotter?

Yeah the only thing that is going ot work for you with text that small is a good cutter. Graphtec is probably your best best but a good Roland, Mimaki, Summa etc should do the trick for you as well. The cheap Chinese cutters are garbage, either go big or go home and stay there. Thanks, Kurt
  20. School project.

I like the concept, strognly dislike the fonts used.... It will come with time. Thanks, Kurt
