I'm surprised at such negativity out me trying to help a colleague out. I'm sorry that your life is in a place where you feel the need to lash out at others. Hopefully things will improve for you.
I don't run my printer for 8 hours a day, and when a roll is new and heavy, I do in fact, keep an...
Make sure the printer doesn't have to pull the media off of the roll. If the roll is too heavy it may bind up and get head strikes. I unwind the media between the rollers and the platen surface so it goes into the printer easily
My Versacamm makes me the most money, next to doing labour, but my most versatile is my Ezy Taper. Laminate, Mount Vinyl, Remove Dibond coating,Apply app tape. And of course use to hang drying prints as well.
I'm a one man operation, so keeping track of jobs is easy with a dry erase board. I have a column for Go Ahead, Design, Quote, Waiting for Client and Order for Stock.
The biggest thing I found is leaving the shop only to do several errands/ measurements/ installs at one time. I now will spend a...
Prepare for a backlash here my friend. But all I have to say is that would you think it odd for a new mechanic to ask if they could get away with rebuilding an engine without buying a torque wrench? That is what you are asking. The BS is a great tool, but for the cost of one wrap, you can buy a...
Appreciate all the hard work over at the Signs 101 headquarters. Had to drink my coffee reading news and weather and stuff for the last few days. It was awful
The Ezy Taper IS a real laminator.
And as for automated. Tell me why it's better?
You still have to stand at the machine when it's running
Mine can never break down. Seriously. It is so overbuilt it's crazy
I can laminate a 10 foot print in about 5 seconds.
Mounting prints on anything is a...
Use only cast on vehicles.
Can't go wrong with 751.
If you're new to the game you may have to do a few layouts and designs to get an idea of material costs prior to quoting.
Also if you're new you won't be near as fast as your competition, so you may have to expect less profit per hour for now...
A sailor at heart, but a powerboat would be fine too.
Hell, I'd even head out on a log raft if it would mean a better view of the race.
Thanks for checking.
Heading down to New York in two weeks to visit a buddy, then heading to Newport to catch the Volvo Ocean In-Port race.\
Any fellow sticker makers out there willing to take a couple Canucks out on their boat for the afternoon?
Willing to pay...cash or rum
Perhaps payment terms depend upon region or even sector. For example, I do a fair amount with construction companies. I never expect to get paid before 60 days. Some of my clients even wait until 90 days to pay as it's their payables policy. I always get paid, so I just make sure the pricing...
Invest in a safety ruler or three.
You WILL cut yourself if you try and use a thin straight edge for cutting.
I learned the hard way and bought one the day AFTER I took my fingertip off
I agree with some of your statements Gino, but if you look closely at many of these posts..including this thread. They are not chiming in to help; only berate. I see no evidence of assistance be it harsh OR easy.
Sadly, I have seen an increase of newbie bashing on this site. Not sure why. Perhaps business is slow for some. But I'm appalled at how many veterans respond to threads with negative comments when a simple question was asked. Yes, often the post does not offer enough detail to warrant a straight...
