  2. expectations of perfection and is there an acceptable amount of imperfection

If, or more like when you get a stress wrinkle on a job or any other slight imperfection that is all you see for the remainder of the project. I always sleep those small ones off and by the next day, they are often not noticeable. That being said I have no problem ripping a mistake off and...

I always get "It's spelled wrong" My response would be the same for both. Without looking back or missing a beat, I say "Straight / Correct Spelling Costs Extra" Or "Yeah, but I'm drunk so it looks perfect" Or "This guy parks on a hill most of the time" Or "The floor is not level"- That one...

  6. Looking for real world experienced opinions of quality laminator

It shocks me how North Americans are still sending dollars directly to China to save money. I know that it's literally impossible to live day to day without buying made in China goods, but isn't there enough evidence yet to see what damage this is doing to the economy and global environment? I...

And then a set of jumper cables walk in and orders a beer. The bartender says. "Well okay I'll give you a beer, but don't start anything."
  13. Charging too much?

Very Well said! And possibly a material difference- it's your job to educate the customer- and just because you have done it a million times does't mean you should expect to stop. And 11 hours may have been high- but then again I haven't learned yet how to properly estimate larger jobs
  14. New Shop Finally Ready To Show

I'm actually within city limits but almost at the edge. Only 3km from full urban city blocks, but I have over 4 acres here. My business is all referral, and my clients come by appointment only. I was fortunate enough to work outside sales in industrial and construction supplies for 12 years...
  15. New Shop Finally Ready To Show

The system has Glycol at about a 60-40 mixture so if I lose heat it's safe to -50 And yes, no sign Pat. Flying under the radar for city taxes is working fine for me for now. Insurance costs are enough of a bill. You'll notice still no 54" printer yet...

  19. Nothing like a clean shop!

Yes, that guitar would look better on the green wall, but I plan to swap between the steel and my Martin which is light wood. And for the floor questions, I got my product from Legacy Industrial coatings. Cost was about $2,000 by the time it was all finished- for 1200 square feet. But it cleans...
