  1. Ink left in cartridges

To use all ink- When "near end", use the "add 300 cc" option. Weigh the cartridge, 400 grams is safe, 385-390 grams IS empty.
  2. new ink cartridge printer says its near end??

If it says "near end", regular cleanings are deactivated. If cartridges are running out of time, reset the date in the printer. (By removing and replacing the battery in the main board)
  3. Gs6000

Still like it, some issues, crappy media holder, head strikes (Maybe due to crappy media holder)
  4. GS6000 Tracking

Thanks, guys. I've been off for a while... Anyways, I'm missing some sort of indication to show if the media is straight, other than just tightening it on the roll. Our old Summa had a little piece of measuring tape in front and back, if both showed the same value, media is straight. The...
  5. GS6000 Tracking

Hi all. Our GS tends to get head rubbing on semi long runs (6'+). May be due to not straight loading, but any good tips on how to get it straight? I roll it tight, hold while closing the handle. Got paper skew warning pretty much every time, and had to disable that. It may be a warranty...
  6. switching to CMYKlmlcWW (need function keep help)

OK, use chips that never go empty, (reset every time you turn on the printer). Switching ink setup is easy, it's in the manual. Just unplug the pumps to keep it from flushing out the good ink. Sounds like you know what you're talking about :beer
  7. switching to CMYKlmlcWW (need function keep help)

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT SWITCHING TO WHITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That get your attention? It's crap. It's expensive as 4 letter word starting with F, ending with xxk It clogs up your dampers if you're lucky, the print head if not. Even Mimaki does not push it in their ads anymore...
  8. Need to print 72 inches and I've got 76 inches of material

Tape media in front also... We have thrown away a lot of expensive media before starting to use tape... No big deal with 3164, but thermal transfer media is expensive!
  9. 2 x JV3+Winows7 issues

Use 2 PC's, one for each printer... Easy to run out of RAM with 2 printers on one PC... Skål.
  10. Mimaki SS2 ink

Hi. Sell them to the guy who bought your Mimaki! We sold all our ink at cost when we sold the JV3, even specified in the contract that it would not have any "low ink" warnings, he bought something like 10 cartridges. A fair price would be $100-120 each. Same as from Advantage...
  11. Got our GS6000

And the ink seems to be just as aggressive as the SS2 Mimaki ink, it melts plastic... And I'm pretty sure it should be vented, and just like the Mimaki, it has fairly strong smell, I'm sure it's not healthy. So, I'm sure its comparable in abrasion resistanse to other eco-sols and needs...
  12. anybody here run a jv3 with Flexi 7?

We ran ours with 7.6 most of the time, then 8.5 and 8.6. SS2 inks.
  13. What can I do with an Epson Stylus Pro 7800?

Don't buy a waterbased printer for anything outdoors. Period. If you already owned it, yes, you could "make do", but I'd never buy an aqueous printer for outdoors. Buy a solvent printer. We have an Epson 10600, we use it for fine art posters, and a solvent printer for outdoors. The...
  14. Capping Station Replacement

It's easy. Unscrew it and replace it- done. No tricks, don't drop any parts. PM me for a Maintenance Manual.
  15. JV3-160S-Wrong Cartridge Error

Do your printheads fire? If it's been sitting with expired cartridges, it has basically shut itself down and not done cleanings. (This of course fixed itself with the battery reset) How are the test prints? If you're not getting the heads to fire, you need to do a LOONG soak in cleaning...
  16. Service manual

The Mimaki JV3 came with Operator Manual. Mimaki does not want us to have Maintenance Manual, I guess... Send a PM; (WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS), I'll send a manual. Only one I have, is for the JV3-SP's. I also have one for JV3-S, but the SP one works for both. I don't monitor this thread...
  17. Expired JV3 Inks???

Have you switched the magenta cartridge for another (new) magenta cartridge?
  18. jv3 160sp output is distorted

I've heard not to use solvents on the encoder strip?
  19. Mimaki cleaning solution question

For cheaper cleaning fluid, buy cleaning cartridges and cut'em open :-)
  20. Got our GS6000

I second the thoughts from Acothran, we traded our Mimaki JV3 for the GS6000, and it prints as good (or better) as our Epson 10600 waterbased. We have not done any profiles yet, just used the stock ones from Oracal, and some from our dealer, colors are amazing, and VERY close to the Pantone...
