I'm happy for your accomplishments. I started my business with no clients, no equipment. I've built a nice little business, but when I hear about success stories like you it's bittersweet. I'm happy for others success, but can't wait to share some of my own good news. That's...
Just did some work for a hospital that turned bad. I had "that feeling" from the beginning, but kept on working with them. Should have listened to my gut.
I live in the wrong part of the country. I've been in Maine for five years and it feels like a struggle to stay open sometimes. You guy have been open for less than a year and you're adding a 2nd flatbed?
That's depressing. hahah.
yikes. scan the roland section of this forum. I found that you can make great prints right away, but will take a year or more of day-to-day use to really learn the machine & squeak every bit of performance out of it.
I've had my Roland for 6 years and I still find that I learn a new...
eye4clr, :notworthy:
Did you watch the roland webinar for creating a profile. I didn't agree with how they taught to create a profile.
You gave a great tutorial on printingdigital back in the day about how to select ink limits of each color channel using a spectrophotometer. Thank...
I used to replace my caps every six months or so. That's what my rep told me to do. I was green back then. I havent replaced them in years and they are still fine. You can pull out the sponge if they swell to much. Leave the metal clip in inside the cap though. If your caps are a couple...
It happens. I have to reboot our roland a couple times a year. Now VersaWorks on the other hand. That bogged down pile has to be rebooted a couple times a day. If I only have to restart VW a couple times a week, it's a miracle.
you can't do that. to run cmyk with a roland you need to change the ink set on the printer and then run CCMMYK. Instead of CMYK Lc Lm.
You need all six heads to run in CMYK mode too.
Sorry. I've been there.
The AJ doesn't have the resolution of the Sol II. The heads and parts are also more expensive on the AJ.
The inks are solvent based so you'll need air filtration. It has a minimum width of 4' rolls for prints. No three footers are going on that beast.
I have a 745ex. If it was me. I...
5500 is a great machine. Started my business with one. I bought it off a beer distributor.
I quickly realized that media was WAY too expensive and then bought a roland.
The printer payment was about what I spent on the difference between coated and uncoated media, so I didn't take a...
