What is the tech having to fix on the machine? I had a 5500 and don't remember any type of cleaning cycle for it. I remember it had wipers for the heads, but I don't remember it doing a cleaning cycle. I sold it 5 years ago, so I'm a touch foggy on it's operation.

I've restrung my cable on a 6' wide printer. I thought I had a backlash problem last summer. It turned out my carriage bearing went back. At any rate. This is an easy fix and you need a different tech.

I would say the Roland vendor probably didn't know how to run the RIP. VersaWorks is a mere setting selection from muted colors to rich vibrant knock you off your feet color.
