When the HP Latex was 13k it was a better value than the Roland, but now that they're 26k again. Roland is a better option. I'm sorry, but output quality is the same as my roland it it is a model from 2005. Also. Roland printers are made with industrial grade materials/parts that can be...

  8. HP Designjet 5500

What is the tech having to fix on the machine? I had a 5500 and don't remember any type of cleaning cycle for it. I remember it had wipers for the heads, but I don't remember it doing a cleaning cycle. I sold it 5 years ago, so I'm a touch foggy on it's operation.
  9. roland sp540v carraige cable problems

  15. How do 3rd party inks ruin your printer?

@speedster Stay with OEM if you don't go through a lot of ink and if you are still in your warranty period. Not worth messing with the warranty if you don't use more than a set in a months time. If you're going through a lot of ink making the move might be smart, but will void you...

  17. How do 3rd party inks ruin your printer?

@artbot. I have nothing but problems with my Roland running Triangle MLD inks. Burned up heads, ink drop out. I was diligent with maintenance too. In fact my Roland vendor commented that I was the only shop that followed the consumables schedule on captops and dampers. I was...
