Regretfully I know a lot about them.
I had them in my roland. While they are a good performing ink. the gamut was muted because of their "clean yellow". They also burned up my print heads. I'd get about a year of life out of each head. Granted I still saved money over OEM inks while...
Just got off the phone with Andrew from Roland.
Roland customer service is the best I've ever experienced. Every time I call for any issue or question, it's resolved.
Thank you Andrew and Roland.
@AndrewO
Those videos are WAY to short.
I've also put two calls into corporate for some additional info on this printer.
I'd rather not call my local dealer since they know nothing about the unit.
A ten minute call with a rep from Roland would be much better. PM me if you get a chance.
I've been into new heads in the last couple years at this point. Not that high of a head count.
I have a SJ745ex. I've been though two carriage motors. A good amount of heads and new rail bearings.
It's prints every day, all day for the past seven years and still prints like day one.
I have a 745. I feel your pain.
Bulk or aftermarket inks can be a huge problem.
If you're running OEM inks I suggest getting a set of the large screen dampers off ebay. these have taken care of my problems for the most part.
The pumps and motors don't affect drop out banding from...
I created a 2"x2" white jpg file that I titled "spacer".
I have this in my queue setup to run on two pass. When I need a space between jobs, I just run this image. I've been doing it since the first day I received my printer. Works great.
@petepaz
Please post photos or a video of this thing running. How fast are you running a 4x8 sheet through?
Does it run DX4 heads? How much art the carts of inks? Do they come in 440's? When it runs white, does it lay down that first then reprint the sheet or are the heads staggered...
RJSsigns,
What brand ink did you use in your Roland. I've tried most of them.
The worst offender was LexJet's ink. Cost me around 5k to get it working after about three weeks of use.
They've since discontinued the product, but I've never used anything LexJet offers since.
:rock-n-roll:
I love my Roland. All this HP latex ink is making me rethink my Roland.
I will say my particular Roland isn't the best photo printer, but I don't do enough photos to worry about it.
That said an HP 9000 is a headache. There is always a ton of them for sale online. Don't...
I've used Solaris on my roland for years with no problems. ZERO PROBLEMS. That's saying a lot because I used Triangle before and I spent a lot of time and money trying to get one print out of the machine.
Solaris works every day.
You do need to print a lot to make it worth it. I...
