  1. idea for our new logo

Same response here. The top one for sure. I pretty much like it just the way it is, more or less. A little tweaking and you will have something good. To me the angle screams creativity and approaching things outside the box. The bottom two aren't great, but I do like the A&P on the...
  2. Excavating company logo...

...without an excavator graphic. Does it work? Give me the good, the bad, and the ugly, please. And some color suggestions would be great as I'm not entirely fond of these colors. Thanks.
  3. Printed vinyl durability

    Thanks for the input, guys.
  4. Printed vinyl durability

I see a lot more printed vinyl graphics these days applied to aluminum composite panels as opposed to cut vinyl graphics. Now I'm fairly certain that cut vinyl graphics will still offer the best durability in these types of situations, however what kind of life can be expected from a full color...
  5. Vinyl on a cling background?

in due time I'm sure the vinyl shrinking would cause the static cling material to crinkle and it would no longer stick properly. I would try it with cast vinyl if nothing else.
  6. price?

You know how the old hippie saying goes... I would rather have weed and no money than money and no weed.
  7. vinyl for walls

    Oracal 631 Exhibition calendered.
  8. Shop organization examples

They could just send me all 98 colors of 951 to fill that rack and I'd be tickled. :Big Laugh
  9. Outsourcing decals?

    We use Gill.
  10. best software for the newbies?

Wow! Niiice! I didn't know about that one. I may have to try it out sometime. Thanks for the head's up?
  11. best software for the newbies?

Yep. Flawless. Another great open source program is Open Office to replace Microsoft Office and similar office programs. We do all of our invoicing and spreadsheets with it.
  12. Shop organization examples

Thanks, Sign Maniac! I like yours too. It looks like another efficient way to keep rolls nice and tidy. Did you notice my awesome step stool, a.k.a. generic folding chair? Building a quality step stool will be my next project...hopefully before I break my neck.
  13. Shop organization examples

When we moved to our new location a few months ago we needed a place to store vinyl that was economical and effective because we drained our resources on renovations and our budget toward the end was pretty limited. I came up with this system that cost us about $300 to build and holds up to 96...
  14. best software for the newbies?

He only noted that on the occasions that he is vectorizing he uses Illustrator and sends it over to Corel. It doesn't sound he is relying too heavily on the auto trace features of any certain program. However, using a tool that is there for the using doesn't seem counter productive to me...
  15. My company van design, feedback please.

I think it screams "Visual Impact". The colors are nice. I just don't really like the flow of the whole thing. It's pretty stiff.
  16. best software for the newbies?

For someone starting out, I would have to say that Corel is going to be faster and easier to learn than any Adobe product. For vectorizing, you may want to try Inkscape. It's open source, so it's absolutely free and it's vectorizing is spot on.
  17. Wrinkles and bubbles in application tape???

I use the big squeegee for this all the time with no trouble at all. I roll back a few inches of the tape and tack it to the table. then i run back and forth across the flap of tape with a hard squeegee and make sure it lays smooth all the way across. Then just push the big squeegee all the...
  18. vinyl for outdoor use

I tried Green Star once and really wouldn't recommend it. It's actually not terrible...it's just not great, especially compared to Oracal. I'm assuming you must be a U.S. Cutter customer. Great company with great service, IMO. I started with them 3 years ago and still use them for about 70%...
  19. Tackiest wrap ever?

I can't stand giant wheels on a vehicle unless it's an off road vehicle. It just looks like a big flashy kid's toy and a ridiculous one at that. They don't even make Hot Wheels that are that ugly.
  20. Lettered first truck in the new showroom!

I dig the truck, but I'm really diggin' the showroom. Do you make the display signs just for display or are they old decommissioned signs that you have done in the past? I'm just wondering because that looks like a really nice collection of signs. There's gotta be some money sittin' there.
