  1. Custom Dirt Bike Graphics

hahaha. Sure! I can help you. They're screen printed. Here's how you do them. First, you start out with a sheet of flexible clear material (usually about 16mil). You then start laying down colors just like you would screen printing a t-shirt. But it's all done in reverse print. Then flood the...
  2. Custom Dirt Bike Graphics

Um... sorry, but I don't get what these images have to do at all with what we were talking about? The artist drew a vector of a vehicle. That's totally different than getting a template for a plastic piece on a motorcycle. You would never get the shape right. But if you want to try to be...
  3. Custom Dirt Bike Graphics

LOL. Yeah right........ the bike is 3 dimensional. That way doesn't even remotely work. Trust me, I actually tried it.:Cool 2:
  4. exporting from corel to flexi

Covert everything to curves, and save an extra file as ai. 6. Then bring that file into Flexi. It won't keep the gradients, but everything else should be alright. I'm still looking for an easier way myself though...
  5. Custom Dirt Bike Graphics

Top secret dude. I don't want you to become competition. lol. jk. Just lay down vinyl or tape where you want the graphics to go, trim, scan, trace in whatever vector program you like.... and there you go. Will probably take a little tweaking, but that will get you a template. You have...
  6. Custom Dirt Bike Graphics

Bike grahics are my specialty. Only way to get the outlines is to buy them from a competitor. Some guys will sell the templates for around $30-$40 each, but lots of companies won't part with them. Mine included. They're too hard to come by to be selling IMO...
  7. Prototype Squeegee Opinion Poll

Don't get all offended. lol I think you overthought such a simple tool. I like the idea, but I really can't see myself using one. Try narrowing it down a bit. I know, I'm probably talking to a wall right now, but why not just stick to... JUST a replaceable tip and a slitter? If you make it a...
  8. Indesign

Cuz some pics are 1-2 gig, and that takes a freaking long time to RIP. Doesn't matter what kind of program you're using for a RIP, it's gonna take a while. Unless you're packing like 8-12GB SDRAM of course. Flexi is fine for sign stuff, but use the right tool for the job. If you...
  9. Prototype Squeegee Opinion Poll

Great idea... but it just wouldn't fly around here. I think it would get too cumbersom. And I honestly don't need a ruler or level on my squeegee. Just purposeless to me. Like I said though, good idea!
  10. iStockPhoto Has Some Competition

Unless I am mistaken.... Istock has numerous photos for hundreds of dollars? Are you saying that you can get the same quality for much cheaper?
  11. Work Bench Top

I have a self healing mat and I LOVE it. It's covered with a grid (which makes cutting easy), and it's painless to cut on. Plus it looks professional. The mat alone is over $100 though. Check out www.signwarehouse.com they carry them.
  12. New business advice...

My advice, leave that equipment alone and start off yourself... fresh. That sounds like a fair chunk of change for some equipment and supplies. Take out a 25K loan, buy a 42" plotter, a small engraver, a bunch of vinyl and supplies, a table, a nice computer and maybe even some other odds and...
  13. Falcon Outdoor Pinch Roller streaks

lol. Yeah, sorry man. The stripes are in the OTHER direction. Wipers have nothing to do with it. I'm on my second Mutoh, and have had to have the foil put in before (as per my dealer). It's just a Mutoh thing. Just like how their lines get frayed...
  14. Falcon Outdoor Pinch Roller streaks

Wrong. They aren't caused by the pinch rollers, they are caused by the heaters. Use that heat/ foil tape and lay it over the heaters (internally) or have a tech do it for you.
  15. Urgent! - Mutoh quit printing magenta

Hate to tell you this.... but you probably broke a waste feed line, and it's ruining your head. Whenever I lost a color, it meant I broke one of those ****ing lines again. Only way to fix it would be to replace the line, which I've always had a tech do for me....
  16. GS-15plus knife dragging - ruins prints!

Do you have a setting on the plotter for different blades? My Graphtec has like 6 settings I think.
  17. Need ICC profile for paper

How do I lower my ink levels? That's the first thing that came to mind but I couldn't seem to find any settings that'd lower them... ? Flexi 8 BTW
  18. Need ICC profile for paper

Gino, it's a Roland Glossy paper for solvent printers. I can't find the name for it at the moment though........ they didn't put it on my invoice. Replicator. You've been printing on poster stock? Where do I find that profile? The list I'm going off of is here...
  19. Need ICC profile for paper

I'm trying to print on various different papers using my Mutoh, however my current profiles lay down the ink too think, leaving my print wet long after the print is done. On some papers, it even smears the ink around. Any idea on where to find a ICC profile to fix this? Or any other way to fix...
  20. I'm here to help...

ooopsi, time to look into becoming a merchant member. That said, I use your products almost daily. Good stuff, good prices... I'm a fan. I'm a happy customer. I'd be even happier though if Imprintables would just bring their shipping costs down.........
