  1. New Company - HotSpotStars

I'm trying not to be rude.... but why can't other people on here do the same thing? It's just a simple print and cut, only on cheapo paper material. I can buy epson adhesive backed paper, even coated, print and cut on that and WHAM, I'm in the business too. I guess I look at this like the...

  4. graphtec a good start? Need advice!

FC series of Graphtecs :cool1: I have 2 of them. Great workhorses. Good buy man, good buy. Stay away from the cheap china plotters, the one you mentioned will probably work great for you.
  5. Serious cutting issues with Graphtec!

Thought I solved the problem.... guess not. Howard, looks like I'll have to be giving you a call here soon. Once I get freed up here a little bit, I'll give you a ring. Thanks for the offer.
  6. RapidTac Is Our Newest Merchant Member!

I got a question! I got a question! Where in Oregon are you located? I visit Portland all the time, anywhere near there?
  7. Drop shadow "bounding box" printing

Just export the whole file as a JPEG or TIFF, and then bring it back into Illy (or whatever you're using to print) and then you won't have that box. The problem is that you have layers of raster and vector images, those corners show where the raster ends and the vector begins (basically).
  8. Outline around outline in Corel?

Sure. Add a contour, but in the area where it says "steps", instead of one, put the number 2. Then click apply. Then go to arrange, break contour group apart, and then click ctrl and U at the same time (to ungroup the selection). You can then click each color as a contour layer, and make it...
  9. Seriously newb question about digital printing...

I know you can buy adhesive backed paper at officemax and stuff, but clear? ReallY? Guess I never looked. lol. Didn't know shops were actually doing that either. That's .... pretty bad. And I thought buying a Mutoh was being kind of cheap!
  10. Seriously newb question about digital printing...

Can't do it. Here's why. 1. An inkjet printer used transparents inks. They do not show up on clear properly. Sure you could see the design, but it would be transparent and honestly look like crap. 2. Adhesive sheets usually don't come in 8.5 x 11, especially clear. 3. The durability...
  11. help with master by desay

Huh? Noooo.... I'm not a teenager anymore. But hey, whatever.
  12. help with master by desay

That's what I was going to see. See if the machine is on pounce mode. And yeah, you get what you pay for. Probably should've gotten a name brand plotter. I bought my first plotter just as I was turning 16, and I paid $850. But it was a used Graphtc and I learned how to use it in a couple...
  13. Digital Media Rack?

I'm in a tight space at the moment and don't have too much of a choice. I have over a hundred rolls, and I'm working in 400 Sq. ft. BUT... I haven't really experienced any denting to be perfectly honest. Maybe because I use all of the rolls a lot and they don't sit in one spot for more than a...
  14. Digital Media Rack?

You mean to hold your rolls of paper, vinyl etc? I built my own. Check out this pic of one of them. Just screw them into the wall and they worked out nicely. I originally made them to hold the rolls on each dowell sticking out, but I found I could hold a lot more by simply putting two close...
  15. Is dafont legal?

Hey, are websites like www.dafont.com legal or not? I'm sure Fred would know... I wasn't sure. I know some clipart and logo sites are definatly not. Just curious about fonts.
  16. Need plaid design

Thanks Deanalois, it worked from your link. Thank you VERY MUCH. I must've tried almost a dozen times from the original site, and could never get it to work. I've used the site before and never had a problem. Weird....
  17. Need plaid design

Oh yeah, hey thanks GAC. I almost forgot about that site. Looks like they might have just what I'm looking for. Now question to y'all. I found something that I can probably work with.... but it won't open for me. It only downloads about 72%, then quits...
  18. Need plaid design

Yeah, but I have a $30 design budget on this project. Can't do much with that!!! I could do it nice, but not for $30. Make sense?
  19. Need plaid design

I need to find a plaid design for some bike graphics. Customer wants something like http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/256159/2/istockphoto_256159_red_plaid.jpg But it's a one time print, and I'm not spending a small fortune on it and I don't really feel like re-creating...
  20. Corel to Flexi

yeah, it sucks. If you design it in Corel 8, it will import over. But if you do it in 12 or X3, then even if you save it as 8 format, it won't bring it over. Just save as an ai. file, and you should even be able to keep most of your gradients!
