  1. HELP PLEASE - Graphtec FC7000 Carriage STUCK

We figured it out... There is a rubber bumper that prevents the pen carriage from moving all the way over to either side. The right side bumper must have cracked, and the carriage got hung up on it. It was impossible to take the carriage off because we did not have access to one of the screws...
  2. HELP PLEASE - Graphtec FC7000 Carriage STUCK

Help! Our plotter isn't working this morning... the carriage is stuck in the right-most position, we are unable to slide the carriage with the rollers up. When we try to reset, the plotter give us a "Y-Position Error." Yesterday we had a problem with deep cuts, I think because the teflon strip...
  3. Cut and sew patterns for tshirts

Do they want you to send them a commercial clothing pattern? I've never done a contract cut&sew job, but it sounds really strange that they want you to provide the pattern. If its just a simple tee, could this work?
  4. quotes for cutting 16" ROUND aluminum blanks .063

IDK how much shipping would be, but Harbor can do that, no problemo.
  5. Etchmark...inside or outside

we usually go outside with it, but it depends on the location.
  6. Sometimes you just need to mention....

What is that supposed to mean? Other than that quite offensive statement, I agree with you. I think the new one looks over-rendered and the i touching the letter above is really a design fail. Why not just adjust the kearning/alignment of the line above?
  7. Tips for applying 48" wide application tape

We have the roll attached at the end of the table, and then we tandem tape. One person on each side of the table, and we just go down the line squeegeeing one plane at a time. The roll is about 15" above the table top for the 48" tape (opposed to the 30" roll which is only about 6" above the...
  8. Okay, so who figured this one out............??

We have limited experience with this, but I can tell you what has worked for us in the past. We have the client tape a regular ol' sheet of paper to the wall, and then ask them to take a straight-on picture. We also ask them for measurements, and we are able to confirm their measurements by...
  9. Simple Projecting Sign Bracket Supplier needed

Thanks everyone, I think I am going to have to call my welder up on this job. I can't find anything that matches my client's needs on either of those sites.
  10. Simple Projecting Sign Bracket Supplier needed

Can someone help me find a vendor for a similar bracket to the one attached? I'm sure my local welder can make one for me, but I was hoping someone knows of a great wholesaler. Thanks!
  11. Site Surveys and Estimates getting out of control

We have people who ask me for quotes all the time, and don't ever wind up ordering anything, or going with someone else for whatever reason. If they call me back for something else, I usually just say they need to give me measurements, we are not going to do another free site visit. OR They can...
  12. Banner Pricing

we are between about $4.50 and $7.00 sq ft, and our minimum is $50. The lower end is usually for resale or VERY large orders.
  13. Wyld Street Banners

I third this opinion! We outsource all of our large banner jobs to WYLD, and have NEVER been disappointed. We've ordered over the street banners, large mesh banners, step & repeats, light pole banners, etc. The prices are slightly more than if you go to other huge wholesalers, but its worth it...
  14. Need some help with two banners...

can you cut one of the hemmed edges off? you should then be able to add onto it using double sided banner tape. hopefully the graphics will allow you to make this addition.
  15. Gold Foil Business Cards source

2nd vote for 4over, I had some done on their silk cards, and they came out sweet.
  16. Special Matte Laminate

could it be a liquid laminate?
  17. I have a question on the different brands of PVC sheets

All I know is that the GLOSS WHITE PVC is denser than the matte white, for bigger exterior signs, we always use the gloss white. I think most people will recommend using the denser material for exterior signs, the foamy matte stuff is more for interior and very short-term projects.
  18. Credit Card Processing WTF?

We got a chargeback for $150, and it was because the guy was a scoundrel. He came in a day or two after Hurricane Sandy, an out of towner looking to profit on our losses. Anyway, we sent him a proof for some vehicle lettering, made changes to it and sent a 2nd proof, and he decided to "hold off...
  19. 18" by 9" Car Door Magnets

i charge at least $130 for a set of full color 12x24" magnets. I've found that we need to use cast vinyl /laminate on the magnets to limit the amount of curl / magnet failure. We don't run cast vinyl all the time, so its a bit of a pain to swap everything for such a small run. One color cut...
