  1. Seizing Rail Bearings

that's good to hear. I was talking with my reps here and they looked at my like I'm an alien. I cleaned it a ton and it looks like she's okay for now. Tell me about the template I need if you don't mind. I've rebuilt this machine from the cart needles up, as well as rebuilding head...
  2. Seizing Rail Bearings

So my roland 745 is getting old. The carriage unit is hard to get rolling. Roland says the bearings never fail, but my carriage is not rolling like it should. I disconnected the cable and re-wound it, cleaned the rail, bearings, yada, yada, yada. Still not rolling well. It looks like...
  3. Transistor for Roland

Jim is a good guy. He worked with me a last year to get a bad roland going. I've rebuilt my headboard three times now. If you can't get it figured out pm me.
  4. Solaris Bulk Ink System

agreed. you need to be going through a set of ink a week to justify the hassle of bulk in. It's a PITA. It's worth it for my business, but if I didn't use a lot of ink I would run carts. Solaris makes great aftermarket carts.
  5. Holy C**p whats happened!!!!!!!

If you're using bulk ink, that could be your problem. For me certain colors and certain times of the years ALWAYS give me problems and I have to run those channels in carts for about a month and then it's back to normal. If you have refills or ink tanks, try that channel in a cart. I've...
  6. Holy C**p whats happened!!!!!!!

you swapped the wrong heads. in the service menu going into test print and do a fill test. It will print each head and then you can isolate which head it is. My cyan head started this in november. New one resolved it.

  8. Sihl Trisolve Posters sticking together

I run trisolv and love it. I too get the sticking, so I put a low velocity fan on the back side of my TUR and let the fan hit the ink. Takes the stick out of it. Works like a charm. If I have heavy ink coverage like on a black posters I put a fan on the front and back. I'm...
  9. Michigan is a great state!!

I setup boot camp of my mac pro and then ran parallels. I setup two processor and a gig of ram to boot camp and it works pretty good, but glitchy over time. So I removed BC and parallels and I'm running a cheap-o pc with my rip software via VNC. I love it. No monitor, keyboard, mouse...
  10. bulk ink cartrige?

Never had ANY luck with refillable carts on my 745. I think the train is too long for a refillable cart to supply ink to the head on my printer. I've seen them work great on lil' 300 and 545, but not on 645 and 745's. I had to go with a bulk tank system that I could regulate pressure with...
  11. Storing used DX4 heads

I've never had success storing a head. I always flush them clean, but even if the nozzles are clean the electronics go out. They never run like they did before.
  12. Oregon's floor graphics, give viewers a headache

just looking at the picture for 15 seconds made me nauseous.
  13. XC-540 Overspray! I Need Help!!!!

Agreed with stickercutter. This is a failing head. They go every couple of years. Dropped nozzles and over spray are signs of weak firing. IE burned out head.
  14. Triangle JVS ink supplier in Denver, CO?

Talk to Maggie at northlight color. http://www.northlightcolor.com/ she's in the Chicago office. I've seen it for like 85.00 on ebay.

  16. "OverSpray" issues with my Mimaki JV3-160SP

Triangle Inx ruined me. I've had good luck with Solaris inks.
  17. It's only gonna get tougher

I feel ya. To be honest I'm so sick of bad news. You are right. It blows for sure. All I see is shut down sign shops, new equipment for sale by banks. I feel like crawling back into my hole. I'd like to hear some good news for a change. It can't get tougher for me to be honest...
  18. UV resistance of the new hp vivid inks (z6200)

So I talked to a couple reps and HP is now saying indoor use with limited uv is 200 years. In window displays POP five years. (doubtful)

Trying to get some info on ink durability of this printer.
  20. Diagonal Banding in VJ1614

I don't know how ink restrictions could do this. Seems like a hardware problem to me. Have you called a tech?
