  1. Profiling -- yeeaaaargh!

on my roland the trick is getting channel restrictions correct. Doesn't matter how how many swatches you scan. If the channels are high/low you'll have bad hues going on. I had triangle profiles down. now I used solaris and I don't have their gamut perfect just yet.
  2. SC-545 ex not pulling any ink

I don't think your heads are clogged. I agree with captops. The fuses are not pull fuses. they have to be soldered on and they are VERY small. A mistake will run you 1800 for a new board. If a fuse blew the heads would fail in pairs. 1,2 would fail together 3,4 5,6 Is this what...
  3. Success Rate of syringe and JV3 Print head

I do this all the time. the only time it won't work is if the face of the head is scratched. No amount of fluid will fix that. You can also try to suck up through the bottom of the head as a last resort. There is a small screen in the head that can clog over time.
  4. Roland Users ... Reviews Wanted

It's now an older machine, but I'd like to review the 745ex. I've had a slew of problems with mine over the years.
  5. Ink dropouts creating banding issues

the screen is the right size, but that is a damper for a AJ1000. You want that screen size, but the damper will be the same size. They have them on ebay, just look up solvent damper. Best thing I ever did for my printer. Fellers also has them, but they're 35.00. Ebay has the same ones...
  6. Ink dropouts creating banding issues

I deal with this almost on a day to day basis. I have had a lot of success once I switched to large screen dampers. I have to change them often, but it takes care of the problem for the most part. I had this problem with OEM inks too.
  7. Sergio no longer with AZ Color?

    well said.
  8. Gs6000

that would be fantastic if you did. can't wait to see.
  9. My wrap design.. I'm looking for help from the best

I agree. I really don't like it. Waaaayyyy to busy. Colors don't pop. I would try a different angle on this one.
  10. Mind is a blank - Versaworks

Tell me about it. It locks up ALL THE TIME. I've reintalled it a few times and that seemed to help for a while, but it always locks up. If you do the control+alt+delete and go to process you can turn off the rolandversaworks process and it shuts down asap. Easier than waiting for XP...
  11. Any positive or negative comments on Triangle Ink

    best to do a search.
  12. Head Cleaning Tip

I've had clogs so bad that I needed to hook up a syringe to the ink manifold and blast cleaning through the head. Works every time. I would rather do soaks if possible, but sometimes it takes a blast of flush.
  13. Head Cleaning Tip

I hope that machine is pretty new. Mine has about three years on it and looks gross by comparison.
  14. Solaris Inks

I know this thread is old, but I wanted to add to it in case some searched this topic. I've been running solaris inks for a little while now and they are amazing. Low odor, good bite and good drying times. Also perform just as good as OEM as far as printing goes. I've tried several...
  15. Glow-Lit Wrap Graphics...

pretty good idea. check out burning man. a lot of people wrap their cars in EL there. http://www.elwire.com/
  16. How is business....

This has been a good year for us. Traditionally Sept/Oct is the busiest months for us. No idea why. I would think it would slow down with kids going back to school, but we're always slammed. As soon as Nov. hits, we're dead. We don't pick up again until end of Feb.
  17. Yellow Ink Dissappeared!

That is a drag. I switched from OEM to Triangle for these kind of issues as well, but Triangle is making some funky batches lately so I'm on the OEM again after three years. I'm not looking forward to the calls about "ink rubbing off", "fading", "scratching". I don't care what Roland...
  18. Banding

I agree with the feed issue. It sounded like his heads were clogging at first. I do a feed calibration on my machine and set the rip to use the printer feed settings. For scrim I'm any where from +90-110%. On adhesive vinyl I'm around 25-45 depending on the brand.
  19. Overspray

static looks more like fuzz around the graphic. not a constant over spray. funny you mention this. I have the exact same thing going on too. Same color and all.
