  1. Joining panels?

Your sign is going to look off-center if you're leaving one panel 10x5 & cutting the other to 8x5. Cut both to 9x5 so that your seam is in the center. (forget the waste; you've already figured that into the costs for the job) I cut the two pieces separately for each side of the sign in...
  2. Dinosaurs?

Our Envision runs about as much as our GS6000 here... different customers need different materials. We do lots of fleet striping/lettering from solid colors and also do a fair amount of printed signage/banners/etc. I still love my Edge; even though it is expensive to operate compared to the...
  3. here we go again... EDGE ISSUE

Reboot both machines to start out, sounds like it isn't the foil that's causing the issue if it happens with different foils. I have never had this issue before on my Edge, just foil issues from it pulling more on one side than the other. Maybe your sensor that reads the foil cartridge is going...
  4. new sales technique - begging

He advertises here in Cincinnati, OH Craigslist as well. I sent him an email once, asking if he could send me some information on these "cloud signs", and received NO reply. Must not be hurting for work that bad...
  5. Need some help with Gerber Omega and Plotter

Add another serial port, whichever way is easiest depending on your motherboard configuration. I just bought a new computer and my computer company was able to find the serial port card that I needed for the correct newer slots/pins/whatever on the motherboard... so yours should be able to also...
  6. wall wrap

If they are already in your office, I personally see no reason to give them your website to visit (unless you have a long waiting list). I would assume it is on all marketing material, which brought them into your office in the first place. If you have a camera capable; it might be even...
  7. Digital camera recommendation for those in the market (non-DSLR)...

I have the Canon SX40HS & love it; previously I had the "20" model, but it got damaged and my warranty replaced it with the closest available model - 2 years newer. I love the photos it takes for being a "point and shoot", but not being a professional photographer (and not wanting to lug a bag...
  8. printing small .eps

You're gonna need high quality mode on a Roland for something that small, and as mentioned before high heat. For small pieces we print using our EdgeFX, it's great for small stuff; we just printed some 1.5cm x 2cm decals for a customer a couple weeks ago.
  9. Print tracking to one side, Mimaki JV3-130SPII

If I am hearing correctly, the material is feeding correctly, just the print is going off to that side? I am not familiar with a Mimaki, but this looks like our old Roland's "stair-stepping" when the encoder strip or strip sensor eye was going out.
  10. I should know this one...

Thanks - it was Optima Black!
  11. Let's Discuss Pickles...

Spicy Mustard + Pickles + Peppers + Hotdog = Awesome.
  12. I should know this one...

...but it's not coming to mind. Any of you have an answer?
  13. Edge FX Printing on thermal Transfer?

Turning the heat up to "high heat" in the "123" dialog in the output window fixed this problem to an acceptable level. I will try the tap trick to see if anything pulls up, but the solid areas are the correct saturation/opacity desired; the lighter areas are the incorrect areas.
  14. Edge FX Printing on thermal Transfer?

Here is a photo showing the banding I am describing. The banding is linear with the material. Tony, I am also emailing you the original high-res photo.
  15. Fun with fonts

I really like the 3rd one, it's something I could use here. Looks kind of similar to the font "Newtext" and "serpentine" but with a few more stylistic accents. The first one needs some work on the lower case "s" and where a few of the curves meet up with the straight lines.
  16. Edge FX Printing on thermal Transfer?

Trying to print a solid light blue onto the material. No gradient. Those were the two colors of light blue I have in stock in foils and both are a close mtch to their blue. They have 6 different color themed drapes that all printed fine onto the material; black, dark blue, orange, purple, teal...
  17. Omega 5.0 is here

What would an update from 2.51 CP & 2.61 CS cost? (both to 5.0CP)
  18. Composer Question

I just dug out the original purchase receipt, says "CS" on it. I wish I would have known there is a difference... So I'm SOL on this one?
  19. Burning letters

Do a combo of the above mentioned items; reverse weed, apply, then get out the wood burning pen/tool and burn it in. If worried about the tool melting the vinyl to it permanently; apply the reverse weed, hit it with a light coat of spray paint, then remove the vinyl & burn the painted areas...
  20. Edge FX Printing on thermal Transfer?

I have been using my Edge FX to print onto thermal transfer (Siser Colorprint II & Siser Colorprint Extra) with no problems for a while. Now I have a job in that requires a few different selected colors be printed - one of them a light blue. I have tried just printing Cyan & Transparent...
