  1. Channel Letter Trim Cap Size HELP

only issue I see is that your screw may be closer to the face and create a shadow...if anything. still the same stuff and the extra 1/4" of material doesnt extend the life of the other 3/4". 2" trim cap exists for a reason, but I'm pretty sure its just for aestetics on large/deep letters.
  2. Double Sided Laminate

crop marks, like registration marks for print&cut? you re-mark the marks atop the white, after laminating the white layer, before you cut. photosensor doesn't know the difference between the black lines made by your printer or the identical black lines drawn with a fine point black sharpie or pen.
  3. Double Sided Laminate

its printed on clear adhesive vinyl, in reverse, and laminated with white, and applied to interior facing-out. (any CMYK printer) or its printed on clear adhesive vinyl, in reverse, with blockout white print over that, with regular color print over that, and then laminated with clear, to make a...
  4. Alternative Channel Letter Mounting Solutions

i'd also be worried about attempting to mount any structure to a fascia, where the client has potentially demanded the contractor assemble the building without using any mechanical fasteners.
  5. Production file release for "mock-ups"

screenshot saved inside of an AI file or a suitable design fee for your production files.
  6. Alternative Channel Letter Mounting Solutions

something that big would need a massive raceway/wiringpanel....which would require drilling the wall as well. if they're hellbent on it, you could easily install some framework with minimal holes either from the roof or through the wall, but they're hmm & haww'n their way to a $5-10k+ upgrade...
  7. 3M Materials Shortage

yikes, just checked it.... 11-16days estimated arrival. ordered two rolls a month ago and they came the next day, hope these get me past this supplier-slump. just checked, and Fellers has Arlon DPF6000 in stock, NGlantz would have it too.
  8. Need Help Newbie - Cast Overlaminate loading

i setup my web by peeling from the liner that's already attached to the liner take-up, then pull it down & under/through the pinch rollers, and then tack it to the backside of the laminator....thus creating my "loose web", and then at this point I lightly twist backward on the laminate feed roll...
  9. It's true, you crazy Canadians are too nice!

as stated above, don't believe the media... if not for gun ownership, Japan would have invaded the United States after Pearl Harbor, but that's a rant for another day. its my understanding that you can video tape anyone doing anything as long as its a public space with no reasonable...
  10. Omega-Bond or Bebond?

Nglantz' BeLine has yet to disappoint. No experience with their ACP, but I can't imagine there being much variation in longevity between brands considering its an .030 aluminum sandwich with plastic core.
  11. Question "hardest" pvc product?

thinking outside of the box here, but if you REALLY need some dense plastic then check out HDPE or HPL (good brand with laminate/color options: trespa).
  12. How to properly align graphics on a car?

parallel to key body lines > level with the ground. prove me wrong but i can wrap a car in a closet if I needed-to. There's no "standard", but you have the ability to see it on a computer screen before you even hit print. So use that time to declare which body lines you're intending to follow...
  13. Question EnRoute 4

if not, pretty sure you can still run in compatibility mode. right click program > properties > compatibility > as far back as windows xp.
  14. Need Help https://www.calmstrips.net/

    textured overlaminate or wallscapes media.
  15. Doming Decal Attempt

doming epoxy is fun. looks super cool on a metal laminated letter too. I mean, laminate is cool but the doming resin really makes metallic effects POP.
  16. Reusing Lexan/backlit material

you can always "freshen up" both panels with full-coverage printed white trans as a "cheap fix". will give you identical clean white faces at the cost of vinyl vs. substrate. But then again, sometimes new polycarb is cheaper than the labor involved in removing old graphics. Also, any...
  17. JFX200-2513 EX White Ink Banding

what's the nozzle test look like? banding that shows itself in one channel, and not in the others, usually means there's an issue with clogged nozzles. if it shows in all channels, then its just a feed calibration.
  18. Need Help Vinyl Logo Applied Across Panels

agreed. i'd rather cut the panel gap out of the logo, and barely notice it as a whole (at that scale), than adjust the kerning of a logo and intentionally change the appearance of a client's image.
  19. Rollover Flexi Flatbed Applicator vs Gfp 363TH Laminator

CWT > Rollover, imho, but both great machines. Price check one against the other and make your call, but apparently the same engineer designed both. Keep the laminator around for sheet lamination, but the applicator table is my new favorite vinyl application tool. Which is a shame, since my...
  20. 3M Materials Shortage

need a quality substitute for IJ180 in a pinch? Go with Arlon DPF6000XRP or Grimco's Briteline wrap vinyl. Both are solid cast vinyls with a price point that puts 3M to shame. Have laminated both with 3M 3519/20 in the past without issue. ....and Avery can suck it.
