This place opened up across the road from my shop this week.
I know some of us work at different levels, but holy crap.
Completely the wrong size, creased, crooked. You name it.
There's a separate app called CutServer that does the cutting. You should probably email their sales team to make sure this workflow is going to be ok for you.
The Rolands are great reliable performers that make money for me every day so why would I get rid of them?
I can see a couple of applications for latex that they can't currently perform:
wraps without waiting for outgassing, and unlaminated contour cut labels to mention two.
I would also...
Those L25500s aren't the answer to every application but could make a lot of sense for you if you can get one at the right price.
I just ordered one the other day... still keeping my Rolands though.
There's a handy free review of the L25500 by that FLAAR guy you can download after filling in a form here:

I would also like to know this.
My gut tells me not to buy a first generation of any printer from HP after my 3000CP experience..
I'd like to know what "improvements" they've made to the ink. Has anybody got complaints on the current inkset?
The 5500 pigment inks give great colour with the right profiles.
Forget their dye inks unless you want really short term output.
On quick dry papers especially the dye inks fade very quickly.
Ok I googled the head price and got $800 for some reason. Maybe that was for a set.
The system does sound economical.
I'm used to the Designjet system having run 5500s for years so appreciate the plug and play deal.
The only comment I have with HPs is sometimes their self diagnosis software...
Thanks Signswi. That's interesting. I would have thought non plastic coated media would be a problem.
How about the printheads. How often have owners had to replace them?
I notice they are not cheap.
Another quick question.
I'd like to get rid of my old HP5500 if I get the latex.
I really only use the 5500 for art paper prints and quick dry posters these days.
I'm sure the latex posters will dry quickly.
Has anyone tried fine art watercolour paper?
Not that this will be a dealbreaker.
