  1. Need feedback on a sign from the experts

We make all of our own signs but don't do it enough to have the experience to know best practices. We currently have a 4' x 16', metal frame, that holds an Alumilite substrate with a laminated digital print on it. It's been up for about 7 years and in pretty bad shape. We are thinking about just...
  2. JV33-160 Thermistor/Alarm?

We've all been there! Still a happy ending. Have a good weekend!
  3. Help, please - Mimaki CG-130 FX - How to read a print file for Cutting from RasterLink6 to FineCut8

It's actually easier than that. Make your image, make your cut line and set it to the CutContour spot color, open in Rasterlink, go to the layout screen, input how many copies you want to make, and then make sure the setting on the crop marks is set to Whole instead of Individual. This will put...
  4. JV33-160 Thermistor/Alarm?

Try hitting end to back out of the heater mode and see if an error code is popping up.
  5. Need Help Roland VS-640 Self Cleaning like crazy.

It's a setting in the menus. I can't remember what it's called on Rolands but on other printers it's usually called clean during print or something similar. Just turn it off and it should do the trick.
  6. This printer or software just #*&#*^# hates me!! Whats this???

Is this the only file that is printing like this?
  7. Need Help VS-540i not printing

Sounds like you popped the head fuse. Not sure where it is on that model but I can pretty much guarantee that's what happened.
  8. Simple issue: paper curl from roll while printing

Make sure the vacuum is turned all the way up and use the media guides. If you don't have media guides on your machine, look into getting some. Most printers come with them already installed but I have seen some that don't. The guides hold the edges down for you.
  9. Roland Sp printer head issue

Check the bottom of the head for damage and/or debris. You might have had a head strike that damaged the head. Other than that you can swap the black and cyan dampers and run a cleaning. If the cyan comes through the black channel fine and the black does the same thing the cyan is doing, it has...
  10. Need Help Blown Fuses on Roland SolJet Pro XC-540

Check your head cables for damage or debris. You gotta figure out what's blowing the fuses before replacing them or they will just continue to pop.
  11. guidance request about versaworks

How do you mention a member? Been trying to figure it out!
  12. RIP Taking forever, How do I know its working???

That's what I was thinking. Especially if you don't have a lot of RAM and the disk is low on storage.
  13. RIP Taking forever, How do I know its working???

    What are your computer specs?
  14. the Best Gray's with CMYK

The simple truth of it is, boxed profiles almost always won't print good grays. Custom profiles for your printer, media and environment will.
  15. Question Is "RasterLink Tools" a version of "FineCut"? And...

Here's the link to the full installer for Rasterlink 6. It downloads a smaller program that then downloads the full program. Keep in mind you will want to uninstall 5 before installing 6. It's worth a shot. I have had many customers do it successfully. You don't want to update as it doesn't...
  16. Question Is "RasterLink Tools" a version of "FineCut"? And...

I'm not 100% sure if they are still doing it but a lot of my customers have upgraded to Rasterlink 6 for free. You deactivate your Rasterlink 5 and then download 6. Enter your 5 password when it asks and it should allow you to use 6. Keep in mind that the password for 5 was longer than 6 so just...
  17. Question Is "RasterLink Tools" a version of "FineCut"? And...

You can use Rasterlink exactly how you used Versaworks. Just set the CutContour spot color and open it in Rasterlink. It should see it as a print cut job.
  18. Blurred print and cut marks - SP-540V

Ok that is a clear cut sign that the encoder strip is damaged or the sensor is failing. I would at least replace the sensor but to be safe probably the strip as well.
  19. guidance request about versaworks

Joe House should know. I can't figure out how to mention a member here so hopefully he sees this!
  20. Not Printing what I see on screen
