There are 1000 3rd party solvent inks on the market and I was just wondering if it's the same for the latex world. Anyone using a 3rd party latex ink? If so which brands are available?
This is the answer. People are the problem. You don't need to be Fort Knox if your employees and you are properly trained on how to spot a phishing attack, how not to click on scam ad links and proper backup practices.
On another note, Colorado Timberline, a large print shop here in Colorado...
Commercial anti-virus is snake oil and sometimes a virus itself. It's all a scam. I have been an IT guy in some capacity almost my entire life. I run the free Windows defender (formerly Windows Security Essentials) that comes with windows and run a scan with Malewarebytes once a week to clear...
It would save some headaches on both sides for sure but I can tell you why we don't do it. We have about 100 Mimaki machines in the field all over the country. I installed about 98% of those myself. Out of all of those machines I can remember only 1 or 2 that were bad out of the box and required...
Thanks 2B! Unfortunately we are not a good source for Roland boards. We carry the most common parts but the boards are harder to get when you aren't a dealer. I would suggest a local dealer like Denco or Midwest.
I used to deal with this type of thing back in my graphic design days for lithographic printing where you needed the bleed to overprint instead of get knocked out. Open the "Attributes" tool bar in illustrator. You will see an option to overprint fill and overprint stroke. Click on all of the...
You have an electrical short in the print head circuit. Sometimes it's a dirty or damage head cable, dirty or damaged trailing cable, bad print head or even bad main board. One weird trick I have learned with the 1204s is when you get this type of pattern you can usually take the top middle...
The black swatch in Illustrator is normally 100% K. To obtain a deeper black you want to use a rich black CMYK value. People all have their preferences but the standard is 50% C 50% M 50% Y 100%K. The RIP will still try to reinterpret that color based on your color profile so if you want to have...
Can't help with your question but on all of the flatbeds I have worked on, usually you can print on reflective as long as the head height is set properly. For most printers that means no higher from the material than about 2mm. If you are printing higher than that, that could be what causes the...
0109 is a wiper sensor error. Basically the machine tells the wiper to move and it never receives a signal back saying it made it to it's destination. Either the wiper is jamming or the sensor is malfunctioning. That would explain why it only happens when it's idle because it goes to do a...
There is only one pump on this machine so they all share one. The yellow and magenta share a cap top.
Cross contamination can be caused by a few things. The most common is failing maintenance parts such as cap tops and pump. If the cap top and/or pump tubes are partially clogged they will fail...
Large amounts of ink left in cartridges is usually a sign that your maintenance station isn't working at full capacity. The way the system works is for every print, cleaning, and ink fill you do the printer expects a certain amount of ink to flow through the head. If your cap top isn't sealing...
Just keep in mind the solvent world is a little different to maintain than the Cannons and Older HPs. Mainly that the ink does not play well with aqueous or alcohol based cleaners and the maintenance parts are much more robust to prevent melting. Other than that you will probably see a lot of...
The more I hear about Latex the more I am baffled. They scream from the rooftops that it requires less maintenance than a solvent yet I see on signs101 every day people complaining about having to change the heads so much, random maintenance errors that prevent you from printing even if the test...
Just have to defend Mutoh to round out the discussion. Keep in mind that your local dealer tech does not equal Mutoh support. If you have a bad experience with a service call that is all on the dealer. The official statistic is Mutoh printers average about 0.5 service calls in the first 2 years...
They trick you with this. Where it says "Standard" delete that and type in a new name and then hit the + button. That will create a new color adjustment file and then you should be able to adjust as necessary.
