  1. metal letter help needed

I've taken off all the letters so I don't have a photo. the letters are small, so the strokes are, in places only slightly larger than the hole for the stud. when they drilled the holes the holes aren't done straight but at crazy angles and there is no fixing that. when I put the studs in the...
  2. metal letter help needed

what happen with the stud mounting was the pattern had an "x" target printed with a hole half punched into it, not thru the center of the x. it was off in that it looked like they punched it with the stud in the letter and it skipped so that there wasn't an exact hole, it was more like a drag...
  3. metal letter help needed

to make a long story short, I have 2" upper/ower case .5" thick aluminum letters that I am mounting to aluminum pan faces that have been spray painted. I used an install pattern with flush studs, nuts from behind to mount these. the problem is the the size of the letters, the pattern and the...

  5. Arlo Needs An Entire Body Transplant!

it isn't the kidney which is good. sorry to hear that you are in pain and there isn't much they can do for it. I an understand you not wanting to go the narcotic route again, is there a non-narcotic of any kind that might help?

  8. Am I Nuts?

have you checked into how many sign shops there are in the area? at one time there were 26 shops in the Burlington area alone. that did not include all the shops state wide. we have 660,000 people in the state so if every man, woman and child bought a sign, there still wouldn't be enough for...
  9. It's good to be blessed

I am so glad that Dan re-did the design as this is looking more like something he would put out as a great design. I don't see golf ball, I see looking good!
  10. Am I Nuts?

there's your biggest problem as if you are a one man shop, it is all up to you to learn the sign business. a couple of weeks training is not enough no matter how hill billy you may think my fellow Vermonters are, they do know a bad looking sign when they see one.
  11. Mounting Graphics to the Inside of a Pan face as opposed to the outside

it also looks better. what kind of graphics are you putting on that have to have a laminate? is it just lettering or is the entire face covered with color/copy? you might be better off outsourcing to a company that can paint both the white backing and the copy

  14. Man, Follow-up cold calling isn't fun

I don't think anyone appreciates a sales call. I know that when I get them, I get an attitude towards the caller as is it just like having someone barge into my office and start talking to me when I am right in the middle of something. the mailers are OK as they can call if they want to but...

  16. Excavating company logo...

I was soooo happy to not see a big piece of equipment as a "logo". congrats on not going that route! it looks good and will look much better with the suggestions given in this thread. nice work!
  17. Anyone know a good charity for the holidays?

yes a church and also you could try your local schools as they might know. I like the idea of adopting a family rather than dropping off to a food shelf as it is more direct. another thing that would be nice is to look into donating food for cats & dogs as there are people out there having to...
  18. flower logo

why the green for the flower? with the red & green and that flower, it looks like Christmas. I think the font you used for the script will be so much better than Brush Script but with a font that flows and creates movement, the flower and lines seem to fight that movement instead of accenting...
  19. Cut a circle in half

  20. Etchmark with a sparkle?

I sure wouldn't trust a job to anything made by Avery. Gerber/3M makes "frosted crystal" 210-324. if you have or can get a Gerber vinyl chart, you can peel off the little sample piece in the chart and stick it to the tinted glas to make sure it shows up OK.
