Awww schucks. Really wanted to see you do something with it. It's alive!!! It's alive!!!:Big Laugh
  2. Cut vinyl or a durable sticker?

I'd use cut vinyl. Just break up the order into a hundred or so at a time so you don't go blind. LOL We used to do cut lettering for a motorsports dealer that had some tiny text and they were white. Good grief that was hard on the eyes. We got smart though. If there was a lull at the shop...

  4. Office Phone vs Cell Phone

Yup. Cell phones are ubiquitous tech. BTW: Cell phones have a cute little button that shuts them off.:Big Laugh
  5. RIP Gerber Solara Ion

O.K. I feel your pain. Had the same issue years back with a thermal printer. Company finally sent a new one which I sold(at a horrible loss) and shipped out 2 days later. Didn't even open the box.

  7. RIP Gerber Solara Ion

artbot will probably be along to cannibalize. Probably turn it into a franken-printer.:Big Laugh One thought though. Could it be converted into a flatbed roll type applicator? Carriage, linear rails, all that should be fine.
  8. Office Phone vs Cell Phone

Cell phone only now. Land line is getting ditched in few months when the contract is up. We do the bulk of our business through email/website.
  9. Backlit Acryllic panel sign, how?

    That's some nice work.:thumb:
  10. Roland SC500 (converted CJ500) help needed, strange happenings.

Maybe swap cables from one head to the other and run a test using only the colors from the opposite head. Before I'd do that though I'd make absolutely sure I can draw ink through the captops. Maybe artbot will chime in. He's a master at diagnosis and problem solving.
  11. font joke

Hamburger walks into a bar and says: "Hey bartender gimme a beer" Bartender looks at the burger and says: "Sorry we don't serve food here".

  13. Running my Roland Machines with a diesel Generator

Your equipment needs clean sine wave power. I know my diesel generator is all over the map in regards to clean output. Wouldn't trust it plugged in directly. Now if your generator is an inverter style you should be good to go. Those will output a clean sine wave.
  14. win 10 wil be FreE?????

We run both Mac and PC. Mac for 99% of the design work and PC's for RIP servers, QuickBooks, EstiMate, etc.... Wife still rocks CS2 on her PC. The CAD stuff I dabble with is PC also. Our iMac came on board because I wanted to try one. Then life threw me a curve and I ended up back in...
  15. what kind of sign vehicle do you guys drive?

2000 F350 extended cab, long box, diesel. Love my big truck.
  16. win 10 wil be FreE?????

Being able to use Linux for everything would be wonderful. As you said development and cross platform compatibility is sorely lacking. We run legacy software so a new OS is of no value to us. I manage to output nice work and make money without the latest Adobe CC b.s. My wife cranks out...
  17. win 10 wil be FreE?????

Still running XP Pro on our RIP server and one design computer. :noway: Haven't gone past Snow Leopard on my Mac. :noway: IMO if it does not make stuff faster, infinitely easier, more stable all while decreasing my overall workload I do not care one whit about it. In plain terms software...
  18. Anyone got a sales contact for merritt?

And there ya have it. IMO with everyone selling the same products the ONLY thing that will set you apart is stellar customer service.
  19. best value 4-36-40" printer

My printer is a 6 year old Roland. It's the same as the new ones maintenance wise. Routine cleaning and replace consumables is all I've ever done. Swab around the heads, swab the wipers, put a little cleaning fluid in the cap tops and you're good to go. Wipers a couple times a year. Dampers...
  20. best value 4-36-40" printer

Ahhh...the bag is off the cat, no? Then bang on. But I don't know of any offerings in that size range. Normally jumps from 30" right to 54" and up. Maybe a used ValueJet? IIRC those are 48" At any rate if you are looking to add this as a service be aware printing graphics are nothing like...
