It's probably either a network issue or a hardware bottleneck. Does your RIP rip the file while it prints or does it rip the whole thing first and then print? If it rips while printing, the computer might not be keeping up and so the printer has to stop and wait for more data. This will happen...

Set the heat setting in the Setup menu rather than the buttons on the panel. When you set the heat using the buttons on the panel, it only sets the temp for that particular job. Setting it up in the Setup menu saves it until you change it.

If you are just getting over current errors it's most likely a dirty encoder strip and/or encoder disc. The sensors that read them could also be dirty.

You need to go into the service menu and run the alignments in there and you will find the head slant menu. Basically, if the magenta is off vertically, the head is probably just slanted. Once you get that adjusted it should take care of the problem.
