Send a screenshot of your FineCut settings when you send the files through. It looks like something is not right because in the screenshot you took the print layer is actually being seen as another cut layer. Notice after the MPC_ it says CU on both layers but on your print only one it says PR...
Check each layer's settings and make sure the print layer isn't set to not print. It sounds obvious but it's one of those settings that isn't readily apparent and can be clicked and you don't even know it! Also, try creating a spot color called, "CutContour" and set your cut data to that color...
If you are 100% sure all the ink was flushed out then you should be able to fill it back up without fail every time. Usually when it fails it's because people don't check the lines after to make sure the flushing process actually worked. Sometimes 1 line might just not flush properly and you...
Sounds like the classic Roland SP300/540 cut tool carriage cable malfunction. If you are running one of those models and it's coming up with 0.0" or pinch roller errors, then you just need to change that cable. Here is a link to the part on our site. SP-300 and SP540
6 moths is a rough amount of time for a printer to sit like that. You could risk it and just keep it plugged in but most likely will have a fight on your hands to get the head firing again when you get back. Also, if anything gets jammed or an error occurs, the machine could pause with the heads...
Exactly. Starting with cartridges is probably the best way to go and then see how it goes from there. Rasterlink 5 will work on that setup. You might look into getting Rasterlink 6 though. I don't know if it is still this way but a while back Rasterlink 5 users could download 6 and use there 5...
The RIP is seeing the no fill as a transparency in this case. Look at OP's original printed image and zoom in. The only places where the black is washed out is the boundaries of the transparent circle. Notice how the outside edges of the black outline are not washed out? It's because the black...
1. 4 color for sure. It's faster and the 6 color doesn't help with anything really. It's more of a gimmick to sell more ink. People have different opinions on that but I guarantee you you won't see a difference.
2. I could go through a bunch of things but the most important is general...
It's not just a white circle. It's a white circle with another transparent circle on top which has a black outline. That's where the transparency is. Also, you are right on the image being CMYK but rendering intents do also discriminate between vector and bitmap as well which is the case here.
The outline and fill being in different layers is what is causing the issue along with the fact that there is an RGB image in the file behind it. Every object that lies within the transparent circle is going to look faded. So you could put a yellow star on the cat's face and it would look washed...
My theory is that rendering intents are the culprit. There is an RGB image in the background which is hidden by a clipping mask. The way the head of the cat is made is weird. It looks like a white circle with a black outline but in reality it's a white circle with another clear circle on top...
There won't be a massive change in speed. They are hyping it up as this big upgrade but simply moving to 64 bit doesn't speed things up a whole lot. As you said, being able to access more memory is the biggest part. Large files should RIP faster in that regard. But the RIP process fundamentally...
It's probably just jammed. You are going to need to get in there and take a look. The solenoid that drives it might have become disconnected or maybe some material or ink got in there and is preventing it from working properly. The click you hear is the solenoid trying to push the pin down so...
Check out our site for parts. We don't have every part for that model listed on the site yet but we can have virtually any part for that model shipped directly from Mutoh to you. We also help you troubleshoot the printer for free.
4320 x 2592 will get you a resolution of 72 dpi. At that height and size it should look fine. Essentially any image from a modern cell phone or digital camera will be more than enough.
I would take the panel apart and see if there are any loose cables or burn marks. If the cable is burnt just replace it and see if that helps. If it is just loose you might be able to get away with just resetting it. If not, the board itself might just be dead. Humming noises are usually a sign...
When I started in the sign industry the shop I worked at did everything in cut vinyl. 2" x 3" decals all the way to 5' x 25' banners. I spent my entire day weeding and applying. The second we got a printer that could print with outdoor durable inks, we switched to printing everything. Yes, cut...
In Illustrator all you do is select the object that is the color you want to select and then go to the select menu and choose, select same fill color and it will select all of the same color. But that won't convince you Corel users and your macros. ;)
Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't installing this type of sign entail pouring concrete, making sure the post is plum and then attaching the sign with a few bolts? Theoretically, couldn't one guy with some tools do that? If so, I just might become a sign installer and charge $5000!
