  1. Error message: OPOS can't find registration marks. Cutting aborted.

S-75 D series cutter. Brand new. I assume the software is also new.
  2. Error message: OPOS can't find registration marks. Cutting aborted.

I'm getting this error message for the first time ever. Co-incidentally (or not) it's the first time we've tried to cut something over 53" which I think the manual states you need 3 pairs of marks. We cut many other files this very day. But they all had two pairs of marks. Is there something...
  3. Blaster Cabinet: does anyone use these?

We've sandblasted items like champaign glasses, wedding inscriptions onto wine glasses, plaques, that sort of thing.
  4. Story has nothing to do with signs.

You could have replied, (after making a point to eye what he's buying) "well....I can see why" I'm pretty sure he's used that "line" before on someone.
  5. Story has nothing to do with signs.

Yeah, and that's the point. You really can't "KNOW" it's just one of those gut things. Believe me I'm approached all the times at malls, box stores and the like with some doe-eyed girl saying she's out of gas, can I help her make it to the next town, whatever. (I must look like a chump)...
  6. i give up...

Oh, and if you're redoing that job, kern the F over a bit will you?
  7. Story has nothing to do with signs.

So Saturday I'm having coffee with my guys at Starbucks. (there's six to eight of us who drift in and out, after chatting for a while anywhere from 6am to 8am) We're all about my age and quite capable of solving all the world's problems before we go about our usual Saturday chores. So...
  8. And still yet another one....................

We get them all the time too. Want a quote when they have no criteria on which to base the da*n quote. Oh....and when someone says they want faces re-done on an existing electrical sign, they ALWAYS underestimate the size! Duh, it looks like it's about 2' by 3' or maybe 2' by 4'. Turns out...
  9. I need a printer

Welcome to the forum. A few comments about what you hope to print.
  10. Anything better than MR-Clipart?

Check their website or call and ask them.
  11. Rookie question about print heads.

So, with my example above, when the head fires once and continues to spray ink all the way across the media from edge to edge, would that then be one shot? (one from the magenta and one from the yellow)
  12. Anything better than MR-Clipart?

Yep, Art Station. Individual templates 30 bucks. Can't beat that.
  13. Rookie question about print heads.

Ok, so my tech tells me there are only so many "shots" or "firings" in the life of any print head. My question is what constitutes a "shot"? In theory if you were printing a rectangle of say, red 1" deep by 54" wide, and the heads are putting down 1/8" of pattern with each pass, is that 8...
  14. Need to purchase new cutter!! Help!

The Summa cutters are reknown for their accuracy and speed. The OPOS system allows for you to print on a different machine and cut on the Summa.
  15. Logo design - before and after

It's a huge improvement. Quick question though. I hear posters on here calling the "kitchen and bath" a tag line. Aren't those words a part of the name, proper? Isn't a tag line more of a descriptive thing, like "remodeling with a flair". (assuming this is a remodeler and not a retailer...
  16. Why does Roland continue to release updates?

About a week back they sent one that had three check boxes. One for color profile, one for a media profile or something or other and another one. I at first tried to uncheck all three and hit okay, but it wouldn't allow that. Can't remember what exactly I did, but ultimately got a workaround...
  17. Why does Roland continue to release updates?

Does anyone know why so many updates come through from Roland. Seems like we've gotten three in the last week. Are there that many new medias being introduced that they have to update color profiles so often? Is it primarily for the Versaworks RIP? Are these possibly "fixes" to the firmware?
  18. Customer who wanted the cheap option!!!

Techman has a point here, I think. When our customers view our work as simply "signs by the pound" rather than the custom crafted work it really is, it's "value" is diminished. (in the eyes of that consumer) And like the Big K, Target, and Walmart's of the world, the name of the game then...
