Bill. My comment was in response to the "why learn at this point in time" question. I think i intended to quote it, but whatevs. edited to add: my comment should have been more along the lines of - "why would you NOT want to learn how?", and then followed up any reply with my first post/rant :)

reason for this? I can understand the "face" print on white trans, for best white-point, but adding an additional layer of white trans. will only dull your illumination to the point of being considered extremely "dim" when illuminated.

scoff all you want, but neon isn't going away anytime soon. you might not be using it as the illumination source for most signage, but glass tubes are fragile and always in need of service. plus, if you're always thinking outside of the box, you can make some really awesome custom artwork...

i've had questionable results using vinyl as a paint mask.... the edges bacon-collar and you get bleed spots. paint mask holds cleaner lines.

agreed to above, your profile is the culprit. either print with ICC Profiles turned OFF, or do a color replacement in the RIP, or export your file with custom CMYK/RGB profiles with heavy black generation. for the latter, there are plenty of youtube videos for Illustrator/Photoshop that show...

agreed to above comments: its your single-layer print, being washed-out by the bright white light. double-layer your print (NOT DOUBLE-INK, TWO LAYERS OF PRINT) OR use a cast vinyl color like 3M Burgundy Trans.
