If your cutting through the backing (liner) then your blade is adjusted out too far. Blade should extend no further than the thickness of the media being cut.
My God I can picture it now, blade is sticking out the blade holder about 1/8" ... Might want to change that platten (cutting strip) now.
I would first see if the color could be obtained in an opaque colored vinyl and have that slit to size, if not simply print the vinyl and have it slit to size. I would not be uncomfortable doing this on my SP-300V, I would set the pinch rollers in about 1" then print a solid 26" stripe then...
Mine is the Bosch 11224VSR, currently only $169 at Lowe's or Home Depot, used to be $199.
Wished all my tools performed this well and for $169 how can you go wrong...
Hey I got one of those fancy tape holder dohickey things, it's called my two hands. Stick the end of app tape over edge of table and walk back with roll in hands, wham bam thank you mamm. Dosen't matter if it's 48" x 12', simply lay it evenly on print or cut vinyl and squeegee like a mad man...
