  1. printing and cutting reflective.

Not sure on the Summa, but on the graphtec, i use a downward force of 25-28 on reflective. Gary
  2. Need a joke....

Hey guys - thanks for the ideas! The speech went really well. I went tried and true with the opening joke. "I've always been told you should open a speech with a joke. I figure I'm funny looking enough that I can just stand here for a few seconds and get the same effect." LOL Long story...
  3. printing and cutting reflective.

I think because the Graphtec probably doesn't have ARMS, correct? You shouldn't run into anything major, just be sure that you are using cast vinyl for both the reflective and the clear. And be sure that you are confortable laying it down - because the clear is a BISNATCH to get down on top of...
  4. Need a joke....

SIGNAGE related jokes - and no, unfortunately I won't have use of a projector... Gary
  5. Need a joke....

So, I have the opportunity to speak to our local Rotary today about the value of proper signage, and where signage is headed. Pretty cool opportunity. I've got me notes prepared, but for the LIFE of me, I can't think of an appropriate signage related joke to open with. Anyone got one? Gary
  6. wrap question

You can put stuff over an existing wrap, but I would NEVER guarantee that the overlaid graphics would come off without damaging the wrap underneath. This is a situation where the design should have taken into account these areas that would need consistently replaced. Have one panel that has the...
  7. HHR Wrap Difficulty

Design it so the bumpers dont' need to be covered :) Then it is a 2. Gary
  8. Window perf job.

Not really, no. The good thing is that once it is down, unless you have the right tools, it isn't coming off in anything less than little chunks anyways :) if you are laminating then you could leave an overlam bleed of 1/4 inch or so. Gary
  9. Our New Sign Proposal

+1 Nothing about this other than the colors will get people's attention. Gary
  10. 4'x4' signs hanging across snowmoible trail - need input!

6 mil polymetal/maxmetal. I would use foam rubber on the corners. Gary
  11. Printing a large banner

It depends on what it is being used for. If it is going to be viewed up close and personal, then yes, you are best to have it done on a grand format printer. Of course, if it isn't and you have access to a banner welder, then print it yourself in multiple pieces and have it welded. Gary
  12. Font suggestions for menu?

It all depends on what they are trying to accomplish. Are they going for an old school diner type feel? Down home Country-Cooking? I recently did a menu for an old-school diner and used Magneto for the headlines/menu items and Myriad for the descriptions. Gary
  13. Printing a large banner

Merritt or Indy Imaging. Both are good choices. Gary

  15. Measurement Help!!

Hey everyone! I'm trying to finish a quick layout for the rear window of a '99 chevy blazer. This is being done in perf. My PVO template is telling me that this window is only 19" tall by 52" wide. Does this sound right?? Seems like the 19" height is really short. Can anyone confirm for me...
  16. Need Hookah Pictures

    +1 Gary
  17. Logo Critique

I think that the biggest thing that you are running up against here is that all of these feel very "web 2.0-ish" to me. I'm guessing that this company is trying to market to other companies rather than direct to customers. If that is the case, I think you should try a "less is more" approach...
  18. Profanity on wraps???

It is my responsibility to run my business in the way that I see fit - according to the ethics and morals that I want to portray. That is the same responsibility that you have. Personally, I would wrap that car in a heartbeat. I might not put it in my portfolio, but I would do the job. Nothing...
  19. Profanity on wraps???

No, it doesn't. That's what makes it "free". I'm one of those dads who is also a compulsive curser. The word sh*% comes out of my mouth, oh, I'd say about 50 times/day. I don't use it anywhere NEAR as much as I do the word fu$%. I also try my best not to go that in front of my kids, however I...
