  1. More Big Squeegee questions...

Briteline is Grimco's "house brand" digital media. I believe it is made by Arlon. Absolutely sure on the bubbles. I will try using a steeper angle and not pulling the backing paper up. Gary
  2. More Big Squeegee questions...

Vinyl is off a roll that I got from Grimco about 9 days ago - so not old. On the pressure issue, It was my understanding that you aren't SUPPOSED to apply downward pressure with the BS? Gary
  3. Clothing Line Logo

You're just a designer. As long as you aren't designing them a logo where YOU blatantly rip off someone Else's copywritten/trademarked design you should be fine. Gary
  4. More Big Squeegee questions...

The bubbles are under the vinyl, not the laminate. Mounted dry. Humidity in the shop stays at around 55. Thoughts?
  5. What is your sign shop xmas present to yourself?

I'm trying to find a Cutawl for less than a 2nd mortgage. Not having much luck, but still looking! Gary
  6. More Big Squeegee questions...

Here's a pic. This is just a small section (14"x14" or so). These types of bubbles are all over the signs. These are Briteline intermediate with gray adhesive and Oracal 210 Lam. Prints sat for 12 hours before lamination and another 12-14 before application. Substrate is 6mil polymetal. Gary
  7. More Big Squeegee questions...

OK...I did a search and couldn't find anything about this related to the BS. Hoping that someone can help me. Starting to get the hang of laying down large prints with the BS (just did a 4'x10'...YAY!!). So, here's the problem. I laid down two 4'x8' prints on Friday. There were a couple of...
  8. Wrap price need help

    I'd be around $3500. Gary
  9. Cool fonts

Of course there are fonts that we all favor. I use Myriad alot. But that doesn't mean the font itself is 'cool'. Hell, when Bleeding Cowboys first came out i thought it was the bees knees. LOL. Gary
  10. Cool fonts

Talk about a loaded question!!! I like fonts that are distinguishable and legible. Really, ANY font can be "cool" if used in the right/surprising way. Gary
  11. jus' wonderin'

These things aren't fun to deal with. As with anything in life, some are able to make it work, and others aren't. The last place where I worked for someone else was a family owned sign company. Owners were brothers, son was PM, wife was bookkeeper. I had been friends with the family for...
  12. Sergio no longer with AZ Color?

Huh? What you are saying (if I'm reading it right) is that Sergio is too brilliant and artistic to work for other people. OK. I can buy that. If that's the case, then why would he GLADLY keep taking these people's money? Just not buying that this guy is the greatest guy alive. You just...
  13. Warranty?

LOL! Our "warranty" is our reputation. Whether it is a wrap or a sign, people know that we will treat them fairly. If we screw something up, we'll make it right. if they power washed their wrapped van, we probably won't. Gary
  14. company holiday party

Jack Daniels. Period :) Gino makes an excellent point though. I can drink Jack till it's coming out my pores (my drink is Jack and Seven, double Jack). On a good night I can probably polish of 10-12 of these (I'm 6'4", 300lbs). Next morning I feel great. if I do that and have just ONE beer...
  15. Fire Away

What about this font for the "off road"? Gary
  16. Fire Away

What about fading out the brown splatter in the background, and having "Off Road" look like the splattered mud? As BlueFish said, right now because of the electric blue, Off Road REALLY jumps out in front of everything else. Gary
  17. How much to charge for a rush job?

First, I agreed with Ddlark. This shoudl not be in general chit-chat, nor should it be in the public forums. Second, and I say this seriously. The "moron" part was a mistake. i apologize. My kids had me up much earlier than normal, so i was grumpy. The REST of my post I stand by fully. You are...
  18. How much to charge for a rush job?

First, I'm going to say what everyone else is too polite to say. You are a moron. Get out of the sign business before you ruin it for everyone in your area. $3.50/sf for finished banners? Wholesale, sure. But why the f&!k are you selling at wholesale to an end user? If I were one of your local...
  19. Anybody seen Mosh?

I don't know about Nebraska, but here in Ohio I don't need a tag to hunt on my own land, as long as it is zoned properly. Gary
  20. Sergio no longer with AZ Color?

There's a saying my grandpa used to have. Went something along the lines of "some people say their problems follow them wherver they go. Seems to me they take 'em with them." sounds like a description of Sergio to me.... Gary
