Spot on. Since so many can provide essentially the same service you have to base everything you do on customer service.
We have clients that have stayed with us because we knock it out of the park every time. Those same clients also told us we are not the least expensive option either.
Sound like us. Wife always worries about those times. I work best when there is no end in sight. We've already printed in shifts to get jobs out on time. Longest run was 21 hours. Which was immediately followed with a 16 hour stint.
Dad taught me from a young age when there is money to be...
For our regular top tier clients my play time can wait. When our client called late Friday I said sure we'll make it happen.
Short of standing at the airport with bags in hand I will always take his calls.
I am the product of parents that lived through the Great Depression. Because of this...
Tried to sneak out to get topsoil for our raised beds. Email pops up. I need 20 24" x 24" decals today. Okey-dokey. Hard to turn down quick cash like that. Planting can wait.
Roland Sp540V with Eco-Sol MAX ink. Brushed poly prints beautifully. It's the doming part that causes fits.
As I'm typing this I may try printing on clear then doming. Easy enough to put a brush finish on aluminum or just use brushed stainless.
Probably double hit the print for some...
Thanks for the kind words. They are dash badges for antique boats. We digitized the lettering, had the tags laser cut etc...
We were doing this:frustrated:at first. Then Pat and petepaz said brushed poly is touchy to dome and failures are common. Spot on with that analysis.
Out of 20 we...
Thanks to Pat White, petepaz and the rest that offered advice ideas with my doming issue. Here is the result.
Had a couple failures, but know what happened. The printable brushed material I use needs to be mounted then domed.
Still happy with the results.
Our first rottie was like Sheldon. You never sat in her spot. She'd start with a staring contest, then a nudge, then a low rumble. Never showed any teeth or got aggressive in any way.
Friends and family found it amusing and would occasionally sit in her spot just to get her going.
In a word, nope.
My wife had an interesting talk with the marketing lawyer of the NBA not long ago. Client in LA wanted to do the whole March Madness thing. Wasn't gonna happen.
Wife said he was very cordial and upfront with all the whys and what fors.
Roland Versaworks has their own "spot" called CutContour which can be downloaded. It will pop up in it's own window in Ai when selected from the swatches drop down.
Our Ergosoft uses bright green because that's we told it to use.
Not sure if that helps.
Doesn't matter people post every last detail of their lives on FaceBook anyway. Idiots even post when they're going on vacation and for how long. Really..? A few stickers on the soccer mobile won't make a wit of difference IMO.
Within X radius we flat rate. Anything after is charged at shop rate per hour. Portion gets applied if they sign the contract.
I'm sure Bob will be along shortly to tell me how I'm effin' up.:Big Laugh
Insulation is cheap and a definite DIY project. Then find the nearest rummage sale and pick up either a tiny window or portable A/C unit. Small window units go for 40 or 50 bucks around here. Portables about $100.
We only run a cold lam. Only one time in many years we turned down a job that required it.
Truth is it all depends on what you're laminating.
If the laminate required uses heat and that's 99% of your business that answers your question.
We run rolls of 30# bogus paper for backing. I have it delivered for 40 bucks a roll.(1500') Others recycle the carrier from either laminate or vinyl. I prefer the wider paper we run. Cleaning glue off rollers is not fun.
