  1. Omega 4.0 Smart Edit issues....Grrrr....

Brian, thank you! You did it! I still have the smart edit capabilities (of outline, shadow, text, etc.) but the annoying "regeneration" aspects are disabled! Wow. That's nice. Owe you one!
  2. Omega 4.0 Smart Edit issues....Grrrr....

Good advice. Thanks. It's just too weird right now using 4.0. Not happy.
  3. Omega 4.0 Smart Edit issues....Grrrr....

Hi Fred, Ok...I'm calmed down, been reading in the help menu, but still notice that when you want to de-select only portions of a group, it's a no-go. Or physically move certain shapes or blocks of lettering around, it automatically re-applies the smart edit items you've disabled moments before...
  4. Omega 4.0 Smart Edit issues....Grrrr....

Is anyone else having the same problems I am with the new ReAction chains in Smart Edit functions? I'd love to be able to disable this. Is there any way? Or alternatively, find a work around for this "new, improved" function that I find far more cumbersome than the old one.
  5. Who owns the Logo?

    Agreed.
  6. I thank you, my family thanks you

I think most of us feel empathy for another person when their troubles come to light. I am not a religious person at all, but don't feel that that precludes me from doing charitable or "right" things whatsover. I'm hoping your convalescent days are pleasant. Keep us posted. ---C
  7. Versacamm printing issue

I think you're bux ahead to have a tech do it. But that's just me. Also, we have the sp-540 but I suspect it's the same as the sp-300. There's head alignment, so it's just not a plug and play thing, but if you're really handy, maybe you could do it.
  8. Omega!!!! IS THERE A WELD OPTION? IF SO WHERE IS IT?

Select all shapes you needed welded together. They must overlap somewhere. Go to Tools, Effects, Contour. Click.
  9. How do you help customers will low budgets out?

This thread seems to have pretty much run it's course.
  10. Plug in filters for Photoshop CS5 recommendations?

Agreed. Effects are sometimes (quite often) overdone. The project I have before me, is a specific client request.
  11. Plug in filters for Photoshop CS5 recommendations?

Fred, is that what you used to apply the effects to your seamless texture tiles, particularly Chain 01, 02, 03, etc? (volume 2 of your texture tiles disk) Those are impressive effects.
  12. Plug in filters for Photoshop CS5 recommendations?

Really? I call the company to see what my problem is.
  13. Plug in filters for Photoshop CS5 recommendations?

I'm seeking opinions on software that will allow special effects such as chrome, brushed metal, shiny gold, etc. Not fills, but filters. I have EyeCandy 5 by Alien Skin but it won't run on my new 64 bit machine. Is there something better than EC5? The features I'd like are: 1) Ease of...
  14. Removing Eco-Sol Ink

Cleaning solution is good. In a pinch, toulene will do it. Always clean up with isopropyl alcohol.
  15. How do you help customers will low budgets out?

Ok, no offense taken. By the way, I do not in any way want to create the impression we take the stance I outlined with all "start-up companies", as you put it. Start-up companies can be well funded. Or at least have access to money, as your client apparently did. But this particular scenario...
  16. How do you help customers will low budgets out?

Stacy, my advice to the OP is based upon experience. Yes, your anecdotal client worked out good for you. Hurray. But for every one of those, there are a dozen outcomes like I'm suggesting might happen. If the OP wants to go for it, I offered my best advice.
  17. How do you help customers will low budgets out?

I get a really bad feeling about your client. Opening a business without a sign? Hmmmm..... Don't think they'll succeed. Get your money up front. If you really want to fool with them, then offer signs that can be done quickly but still pack a punch. (with respect to layout and color) Keep...
