Brian, thank you!
You did it! I still have the smart edit capabilities (of outline, shadow, text, etc.) but the annoying "regeneration" aspects are disabled!
Wow. That's nice. Owe you one!
Hi Fred,
Ok...I'm calmed down, been reading in the help menu, but still notice that when you want to de-select only portions of a group, it's a no-go. Or physically move certain shapes or blocks of lettering around, it automatically re-applies the smart edit items you've disabled moments before...
Is anyone else having the same problems I am with the new ReAction chains in Smart Edit functions?
I'd love to be able to disable this. Is there any way?
Or alternatively, find a work around for this "new, improved" function that I find far more cumbersome than the old one.
I think most of us feel empathy for another person when their troubles come to light.
I am not a religious person at all, but don't feel that that precludes me from doing charitable or "right" things whatsover.
I'm hoping your convalescent days are pleasant. Keep us posted.

I think you're bux ahead to have a tech do it. But that's just me. Also, we have the sp-540 but I suspect it's the same as the sp-300.
There's head alignment, so it's just not a plug and play thing, but if you're really handy, maybe you could do it.

Those are impressive effects.
I'm seeking opinions on software that will allow special effects such as chrome, brushed metal, shiny gold, etc.
Not fills, but filters.
I have EyeCandy 5 by Alien Skin but it won't run on my new 64 bit machine. Is there something better than EC5?
The features I'd like are:

Ok, no offense taken. By the way, I do not in any way want to create the impression we take the stance I outlined with all "start-up companies", as you put it.
Start-up companies can be well funded. Or at least have access to money, as your client apparently did.
But this particular scenario...
Stacy, my advice to the OP is based upon experience. Yes, your anecdotal client worked out good for you. Hurray.
But for every one of those, there are a dozen outcomes like I'm suggesting might happen.
If the OP wants to go for it, I offered my best advice.
I get a really bad feeling about your client. Opening a business without a sign? Hmmmm.....
Don't think they'll succeed. Get your money up front.
If you really want to fool with them, then offer signs that can be done quickly but still pack a punch. (with respect to layout and color)
Keep...
