  1. Corel fonts question

Turns out that some of the fonts for which I was searching are NOT on the X5 disk at all. Had to re-insert the old Corel Fonts disk I've had for years to get particular fonts. Thanks to all who've offered their comments.
  2. Corel fonts question

    Only 207 fonts there.
  3. Operating System using VersaCamm sp-540v

We are running Versaworks 4.1.1 on a Windows 7 64 bit machine. No problems.
  4. Corel fonts question

Just updated our engraving room's computers from X3 to X5. Now I find that earlier files, when opened, give a message stating that the required fonts are not available. I'm pretty sure when we loaded X5 that we loaded all the fonts, although I didn't do this task myself. Does anyone know...
  5. quick question about dye sub printer

Send me your shipping address via PM and I'll box it up and shoot it off to you. Some of the ink packets have ink some look and feel a bit used up.
  6. quick question about dye sub printer

Thanks, but I guess the ladies in our engraving dept. have ordered the Ricoh and it's on it's way. The 1400 is on it's way also...that is...on it's way to the dumpster.
  7. quick question about dye sub printer

Looks like our Epson 1400 has bit the dust. A replacement, a Ricoh, is on the way. My question is this: Is the little bulk ink system that is attached to the cartriges have any value? Or does it go to the dump with the printer? Obviously I'm new to this, having just purchased this engraving...
  8. Client emails that make you crazy!

Feel your pain. Been down that same road with certain clients. But, my favorite gripe about emails and clients is when they don't read the body text, but only open and view the attachment you sent. To wit: In the email you might explain that the colors may not appear correct because display...
  9. I'm sticking to my guns...right?!

As a business model, this isn't sound.
  10. Work Orders

Work orders should be: Sequentially numbered. (printed) Very important. NCR duplicate or triplicate depending on shop needs. Have your name and logo, full contact info Have a space for client info. (full client info) Date of order, due date (if any) Date promised. Name of person who placed...
  11. I've heard it all now!

WWD, my point is this. There's so much moaning and groaning on this forum regarding "unfair" business competition. Boo Hoo. I say be glad you live in a country whereby someone, anyone, can start up a business and thrive. But please know, that sword cuts both ways. If it's possible and even...
  12. I've heard it all now!

Ok, I stand corrected. The OP is indeed from a different country. But....most of the people replying are indeed from the US of A. So there's that. Secondly, I stand by my comments. What kind of world do you want to live in? Communist China? A place where a dentist isn't permitted to...
  13. I've heard it all now!

Last I checked this is still America. You guys are all wet. If I want to make donuts in my shop and sell them, does Winchell's down the street not more than 300 yards have any kind of legitimate beef with me? Get real, people. If the dentist wants to be in the engraving business, so be it...
  14. Photoshop is getting me PO'd

Yer too quick, CG. Incidentally I had the same "problem" once and someone put me on to the caps lock thing.
  15. licensed copies? or not?

Thanks for the detailed response. Here's what I've since found out directly from the Corel people. (finally got through) I gave them the number and for what it's worth, they said they will allow an upgrade from it to X5. Right now that upgrade is on sale for $179.00 (you are correct, however...
  16. licensed copies? or not?

Ok, here's what I see: The program is licensed to the person I purchased the business from. Both of them. I do see that she has no PIN number recorded because she (apparently) never bothered to register it, so I would imagine that the company will not extend any support. I have those Serial...
  17. licensed copies? or not?

How would I learn whether or not I have an "install S/N"?
  18. licensed copies? or not?

Purchased an existing business recently. On the two computers that came with business are Corel 12 and Corel X3. Since the previous owner is not available to ask, and we can't find any manuals, program disks, etc. how can we learn if these are legit copies? I've called Corel several times...
  19. Becoming a Roland Tech...

I imagine you'd need somewhere near one million dollars to set up the franchise, buy equipment, media, etc. Might be a bit too much, if your goal is to save on tech fees. lol. By the way, what are your fees averaging annually? Can't you just bury it into your Cost of Business?
