What's dumb is the inability of supposedly intelligent people to be unable to comprhend a simple concept:
Don't want to pay the $75 bucks. Fine. If your house catches fire you'll have to pay whatever it costs for us to put it out. Let's say $10,000. People who did pay the $75 will see the guy...
If the county/fire department is worried about money they could have charged this guy any fee they chose. "You want us to put it out? Sign this work order right here....."
Like I said before, take it out of the peoples property tax so they all pay.... no choice. Works here.
Totally agree. They cost the city the full amount for the call by showing up and sitting there (minus the cost of the water they didn't pump onto the fire.) Idiots. Correction....pricks. I couldn't have watched the guys house burn. I'm glad the kid beat the crap out of the fire chief. Good for him!
How could a group of fire fighters watch another human beings house burn to the ground over $75? If I watched your house burn down while I was sitting in my firetruck I would never be able to sleep at night again from guilt. Do unto others......
A simple policy would be, and I repeat, "Charge...
Dude..... you gotta stop sniffin' the paint! There is no way you can paint an outline on a 14 foot x 2 foot set of words on a ribbed brick wall in ten minutes. Especially from a ladder. A little BS is one thing, out right fantasy is another.
That works out to 42 seconds a letter to outline or...
Here is an interesting quote from bob on another thread. Seems like bob does think some signs are worth more than others and that they are not merely a commodity:
"If you can't see the difference in layout, execution, and resulting elegance between something cranked out on a computer and work...
At least they taped the house wire up the inner side of the post. (Some sort of conduit might be better.) I wonder how long it be before that chain gnaws through it?
Actually the last sign can I replaced the faces on (this week) had an old extension cord buried out to it and some marettes...
I'm with Bubbles. I've survived just fine with a 24" plotter for years now. A 30" printer would do a heck of a lot jobs for me. Outsource the big muthas and odd stuff.
The giant bubbles are really bad and the colours are nasty(the green is three separate pieces!) but the feature that really sets this sign apart is the double sided channel letters. From the street it is illegible. Just a tangle of letters and letter-like shapes.
The ancient, yellow change...
I hinted at this earlier. If you want to print 2 or 3 retractable banners will it be cost effective to buy a 100 yard roll? If not you'll have to sub them out. That would piss me off if I owned a printer. My point is a good sub is worth a lot and maybe you don't really need a printer of your...
