  1. Worst sign I've seen in a while

Dude! Start your own thread already!
  2. Worst sign I've seen in a while

I think it would be nice if people who wanted to discuss racism started a thread about racism. I don't have any idea who owns the Motel or who made the sign. I think maybe it is an inflatable sign.................... with a slow leak.
  3. Worst sign I've seen in a while

Love the braille comment! It would be tough to tell "them" from "us" if we didn't have cultural differences, wouldn't it? It would be a boring world to be sure. I don't see any point in pretending not to notice. I have some good customers who are of Middle Eastern decent. Mostly seem to be...
  4. Worst sign I've seen in a while

Yeah.... that's kinda how it works.
  5. Worst sign I've seen in a while

What you really can't appreciate from the photo is how completely un-readable the channel letters are. Total waste of time.
  6. Worst sign I've seen in a while

Posts and change letter sign are old as is the top can. The faces and channel letters are new.
  7. Worst sign I've seen in a while

It's brand spanking new. Here's a pic of the Motel. Note the new led sign flung over the side of the roof on old chains. It's even crooked. Hockey tape holding the wiring to one of the chains no doubt! They must be turning away customers with this new improved signage.
  8. Worst sign I've seen in a while

OK.... I've seen worse..... but this thing is outside a large established motel with a lot of units, indoor pool, 2 bars, conference rooms etc. The thing has more bubbles than bubble wrap, you can't read the top letters and they even have hockey tape holding the wiring! The sign reads...
  9. Thermal vs Inkjet

Colin, It sounds to me like an Edge would be your best bet. If you mostly do boat lettering the gold foil alone would make it a solid choice. The don't appear to take up much room either. A used or refurbished one might be just the ticket. I don't need a lot of printing done so I use a local...
  10. What formula do you use to quote a job?

(goon babble deleted) So bob, A sign painted in the dark by a blind Parkinson's sufferer would fetch the same price as one meticulously painted by a master? Same fuctionality and materials...... Heck, they're down right fungible! We're not talking about fuctionality here. We're talking about...
  11. Ingrown Toenail

    What she said.
  12. What formula do you use to quote a job?

Nice try bob. "A commodity is a good for which there is demand, but which is supplied without qualitative differentiation across a market." Consider the humble beer. Beer is beer you say? No. Beer is a diverse and varied product that can sell for whatever the maker can convince you it's...
  13. What gets you to the shop and back?

Cobra! My brother in law has a replica. Factory Five kit with a 428 in it. Dynoed at nearly 500 horse power and weighs 2200 pounds! That thing will pin your ears back! I'm working on my MGB roadster. Got the block etc. at the machine shop right now.
  14. My first wall job done.

OK...... I give up.... how the heck would it be faster to move a ladder every 10 minutes verses walking around on my 10 foot plank like I was on the ground? Oh, and welcome to the forum!
  15. newbie with a tricky job

Could you print a layered file one layer at a time?
  16. Signs of the Time Vehicle Contest

Is there a link to this?
  17. Master cutter getting flaky

Yeah. I can move the cutter head back and forth too. Is the problem funky corners? A decent pic would be a big help.
  18. I've run out of gas on this one

That looks better! Does your client realize what this beer will be nicknamed?
  19. I've run out of gas on this one

Steve C's in post #50 is the best so far. Looks so much better with un-distorted main copy and bolder light coloured outline.
