  4. CNC Contour Cut

Post pics when you get one. That is one model I haven't tried yet. Owners rave about how fast, agile and comfy they are. Supposed to be a good for long hauls too. I need to win the lottery so I can buy all the bikes I want. It is a sickness I'm told.
  5. CNC Contour Cut

Nice bike. If you watch AMA Superbike(KTM team) or Moto GP(Ducati's) My friend makes parts for those bikes. When Ducati engineers were at his shop they asked what was in all the Snap-On cabinets. He said: Tooling, why? They said at the Ducati race facility they only have a small cabinet...
  6. EDDM Postcards

We leave room for all the postal stuff according to their regs. USPS has reference guides to show you whats what. There is a whole raft of things you need to know to have it go off without a hitch. I know. I spent a semester studying correct set-up, postal regs, etc... Don't know how your...
  7. CNC Contour Cut

I'd bet xxtoni's guy is an old tool and die maker that's forgot more than most of these engineers will ever know. Very good friend of mine is 72 years old and supposedly retired from the tool and die trade. He's got people from Austria and Italy coming to his shop to get prototype pieces done...
  8. Cutting Help on Versacamm...

Did you square your material prior to loading? Relying on the sheet cut function does not give a perfect 90 degree angle. Wife ruined a batch of decals figuring the sheet cut "trued" the material. Nope, it just cuts a straight line. Not a perpendicular line to the edge. I got out my big...
  9. CNC Contour Cut

The only time I've needed a CNC cut-out I had it cut out first then applied the graphic. Perfect. I know it's not production friendly, but it works. Need to get my own CNC. Don't think my friend likes tying up his 5-axis Centroid to do my projects.

It's around 12 inches x 20 something inches IIRC. But it's $30,000 of never gonna be in my shop.
  15. Purchasing a used Ledco Econocraft - need advice

Make sure the roll pressure was released prior to storage. 4 years will definitely flat spot them. Make sure the rollers are perfect. No nicks, scrapes, gouges etc... If the rollers are toast the thing is worth scrap rate at the yard.
  16. Mylar laminate and white printable Mylar

Job spec calls for white Mylar(printed) with 0.5mil Mylar laminate. Already tried a web search and got nothing. The laminate would have to be cold apply also. Where can I find this stuff? Or is there a MM that can help?
  17. Clean ink

Wrap it with carbon film. Done.
  18. How do you make a pan sign 3D mold and paint / vinyl lettering in California

Sub it out. No, really. Sub it out. But if you insist on DIY you can CNC the form out of pine and use bondo to finish the imperfections. That and tons of sanding. Forms must be perfect as any flaws will telegraph to the face. Biggest problem would be finding a place that does vac forming...
  19. Problem with SC 545 EX Cutting

Our SP540 is off too when cutting laminated prints. Print/Cut the thing can do a couple hundred decals perfectly. Had one if the best techs in the business check it out. Said it was freakishly accurate. But again when in service mode it is a Print/Cut routine. Not print, lam, re-install...
