In the context of this conversation vinyl will be referred to as a web.
How do you know the cardboard cores you are using are the exact same diameter from one end to the other? Even a slight variation will "stack" as the roll gets bigger and steer the web. Could be as simple as having a...
I've been getting ink from US cutter. Save a ton over any other supplier I have access to. Just set up an online account and order away. Ink arrives in 2 to 3 days.
My Roland SP540V print/cut is deadly accurate at those small sheet sizes too. Every 32" your plotter gets to reset. Not really a fair comparison. Jus' sayin'
While carbon prints look decent I prefer the textured carbon film. Yes I understand the fact that you wold like to print and apply it all at once. But the textured carbon with its matte finish would look smokin' as a counterpoint to a high gloss laminate.
Okay ya caught me I never went to college but I stayed at Holiday Inn last night.:Big Laugh
I was very fortunate my instructor for Ai is an award winning designer with international clients. He was up front in telling us how the real world of design worked and what given printers like to see...
Some friends of mine used 3M 77 spray adhesive and faux leopard, tiger, and zebra fur to do their motorcycles. They were quite the hit around town as they always rode as a group.
Do you have a Roland? I'm curious to know how well they cut. Looking at their specs and doing the math they don't look accurate at all. There are all kinds of qualifiers(fine print) to get the claimed accuracy.
A Summa is on my "to buy" list. I haven't seen the latest Graphtec specs so I'll...
Any banner orders over 2 or 3 pieces get subbed out. Quality has always been excellent and my rep has gone to the mat more than once to make me look good. I also come out ahead. My delivered cost is less than my input costs. Then you have to factor in what you time is worth. Time that could...
I like the first one. Neat and clean. While typography is not to be ignored I do not feel it will have any impact whatsoever within his target market. There is a time and place for correct kerning, leading etc... This ain't it.
For flawless gradients we use the blend tool. I was taught this in college. Digital prints turn out nice, but more importantly offset prints come out great. Being taught to build in cross platform compatibility removes headaches down the road since clients invariably ask to do other things...
And a mess it will be.
While it may look attractive to have gotten something for nothing, once you start Pandora's box will have been opened. If you are up to pouring thousands and thousands of dollars into something that may never work correctly by all means continue. But, if you don't...
Even with our Roland EcoSol MAX inks we try to avoid cutting full bleed decals on 4mil right away. They will shrink, sometimes a lot. Different medias will net different results. Oracals 651 works pretty good in this respect.
Our SP540 is old and we've left for a weeks vacation. It has to...
Yup. Those grit rolls are attached to a shaft. I haven't looked at mine in depth but assume they are attached either by set screws or roll pins. In the latter case a pin could have sheared or fallen out. Either way pull a couple covers and have a peek.
Hit it right on the head. Especially the part in bold. I'm just outside Green Bay WI and the market is ummm..."frugal". The best franchise backed by the best marketing will fail if placed in the wrong area.
I had a talk with my brother regarding the vagaries of business. He said the best...
