  1. Recent Porsche Cayman wrap

Slick install. Looks like you get to do all the fun stuff.
  2. 2012 f250 red wrap

Does he want it removable a some point? If so wrap with light gray cast then paint. Yes you can base/clear cast vinyl you just can't wrap with it. Flat and slightly curved surfaces are O.K. Before digital printers I used to airbrush and paint on vinyl to get the effects I wanted.
  3. Good stock photo sites?

We only use dreamstime. Of course we post and sell there too. If they don't have the shot I need I go out and get it.(use it then post it for sale)
  4. Soooo......

You guys should have seen the original ummm...stuff on a Class 8 truck I redid. Shop owner said: "Not to hurt anybodies feelings, but can you imagine anyone doing that then standing back and saying Holy S**t! That looks fantastic" Fortunately I got to redo the everything, my way. Original...
  5. Single vehicle outline

Like the title says is there anywhere to buy a single outline instead of the whole package? We do wraps infrequently so we take photos and scale from those. Just thought I'd give an outline a shot on a new job. Who knows I may like it?
  6. Help contour cut and gatorfoam

I did a couple recently. Contour cut the graphics then applied. Graphics had a "bleed" 0.125" bigger then the cutout, which allowed me to trim exactly. Worked great, but then I was only doing a couple. Not so swift for production.
  7. picture is worth a thousand words

  8. summa graphtec or roland or other?

Summa's tech support is second to none. When you call there is a human in the other end. Email with a question and a rep calls you back same day. Usually within a couple hours. Although the only reason I've ever called was to ask a question about a larger cutter with OPOS. Our old(nearing...
  9. Label printing

If you plan on doing thousands of labels sub it out. While you may be able to get the roll stock how will you handle/keep it in register? Those rolls are most likely for dedicated presses and are 1000' up to 3000' long. We looked into doing in house labels with our Roland and there is no...
  10. My Custom Fuses for Roland Printers SP300v - Sp540v. How-to parts list.

I'm curious as to fuse duty. Fast blow, slow blow? I remember there being different types from my car audio days. I also remember that fuses wear out. If certain frequencies were missing in output we could replace the speaker fuses to solve the problem.
  11. close cover

Probably not seated correctly. I have the same printer and the cover by the controls is fussy to put on. Slide over the pins, lower it evenly until it touches then push down until it clicks into place. The cover on the other end takes some finesse to get seated correctly also. When you get...
  12. i am a newbie hello

    :Welcome: from sunny Wisconsin
  13. $1.87 SQFT banners!

A local grocery stores photo department sells gallery wrap canvas cheaper than Walmart. I'd have more in materials than they sell them for. It's the reason I don't even mess with them. And yes, I tried.
  14. If this was happening to any other software.................

I'm curious how this CC deal will go and what impact it will have on freeware. I bet I could get along just fine with the features found in GIMP. As far as "designers" sending CC files? I tell them to send a press quality pdf. Done. If they can't do that then they aren't much of a...
  15. If this was happening to any other software.................

CS6 will be the last adobe product I buy. When that is no longer viable I'll start using Corel.
  16. What do you do for electronic proofs?

Create a pdf in Acrobat and attach "stickies" to it. In my Graphic Repro class all submissions had to be done that way. Not the cleanest, but an excellent way to point out features.(in our case it was file errors)
  17. A couple of philosophical considerations

Mayhaps citizens are confusing Common Good with Public Goods? e.g. Flood control. Since it is provided by the government it is non-rival and nonexcludable. Flood control allows everyone in the flood plain to enjoy the benefits simultaneously. By it's very nature it also makes it impossible...
  18. Paint

Why satin paint? Gloss will give better adhesion. Sherwin-Williams Automotive makes some good DTM(direct to metal)paint.
  19. Why is no one interested in new Mimaki printers?

With the debate started regarding head replacement costs my curiosity is piqued. Forget about the ease of replacement with HP. What is the true cost over "X" amount of time between HP heads and a DX5? I don't think anyone has done the study.
