  2. Got some work in Time Magazine...

I work on the Southern Oregon Coast with a lot of Recreational Marijuana Dispensaries. This retrofit we did is within viewing distance of the CA. border (used to be a market). They get dozens of pics every day, some are for sale one iStockPics, this one was published in TIME...
  3. does anyone know this font or how to achieve its look, thanks in advance

Crappy script font with some sort of photoshop layer effects. I'm guessing a pattern overlay with one of the crappy default patterns available, with a (take a guess) 3pt. black stroke and a tight offset drop shadow. This is only assumed based on the strokes and drop shadows of other elements in...
  4. The perfect hem

Just practice and use your man hands. I can post up a video tomorrow doing it on the quick. I keep my tape and banner taught, with a .9" bleed all around. Trim down to 1" and flip over. If you are using a good tape, the backing liner will be thick enough to let you pull tight and fold a nice...
  5. HP Latex and sticker printing

Dude, I can print money quality with my latex 110 (the cheapest and oldest) latex printer. HP Latex 110... Awesome! I can get these results with a canned profile for paper, or same results telling the machine default vinyl is loaded. I think that you are saving your files with some crappy RGB...
  6. HP Latex and sticker printing

You might be using some horrible color profile in your design software. Try converting your color profile to RGB, and Adobe 1998 in particular. It sounds old, but was created to have the largest color gamut available for CMYK printing. Also make sure that your RIP software does not over-ride the...
  7. HP Latex 110... Awesome!

Weird, I print lots of 600ppi canvas at 600dpi and have never had a grainy print. Charging $12 sq/ft. for printed 21mil canvas all day long with multiple photographers. Printed 384 sq.ft. of IJ-35C today for a furniture store at 600dpi from 50ppi images and they had zero graininess... Latex is...
  8. HP Latex 110... Awesome!

I said your print file, not print profile...
  9. New HP Latex 115 and 115 Cutter Combo!

Not sure about Operating System compatibilities with the software, but you can always install an instance of Windows 10 as a Virtual Machine on your Mac, and then send files to print from that which a few extra steps each time. Might save time, might be better off buying a $200 PC from walmart.
  10. HP Latex 115 Print and Cut Solution

I run a latex 110 and for a while made it work with my existing Roland VersaCamm pro 30" cutter. I would create a 30" x 52" print file with reg marks from an Illustrator plugin, then laminate and rotate the sheet 90" to fit the smaller cutter. Cut speed is not a big deal, you can usually cut...
  11. Backlit Signs

Yeah just cut the outlines of the letters to scale in cheap vinyl. Then place a horizontal line halfway up through each line of text. Weed the letters out, and apply it to the wall where needed. Tape the letters in place. Now with the split in the vinyl you can easily remove it without worry of...
  12. Backlit Signs

Order the LED lit letters with power supplies. You can wire up all the secondary wires yourself and just hire an electrician for 1 hour labor to wire up the primaries...
  13. Discussion Price of more than just the sign...

So I used to bids signs by square footage, and customers would try to hold me to that. 6 years of doing this and I have finally realized I need to be getting paid for the rest of the job. Say your car breaks down in front of your "new" to be owned business. You need it fixed so you call an...
  14. What would you guys charge for a 3x6 color vinyl print with laminate?

I'd be at $6 sq.ft. for printing the file to adhesive vinyl (3651 ish). with adjusting the file. $2 sq.ft. laminating with compatible product. $3 sq.ft. mounting to provided substrate. $198 each. maybe 5% bulk discount, but they are all the same amount of risk. Got to remember, each step of the...
  15. HP Latex 110... Awesome!

Probably your print file is low res... Maybe you are trying to print at 150dpi?

  17. Shop Pics

You all are like here is "our shop" or this is pics of "the shop" but how many of you are actually posting pics of your own ONE MAN SHOPS? Cool you have a job, but you don't get it till you own your own shop. It's a hard life you probably don't want.
  18. Shop Pics

Shot with my cellphone in panoramic mode and cropped down to scale in photoshop. Left screen it so I can look at what I am weeding without a printout.
  19. Shop Pics

Some pics of the shop. Moved from 500 to 2,000 sq.ft. still one man show:
  20. Question HP 110/310

Been rocking the 110 for over a year. If I had the 310 I could make the same margins charging $.10 less per sq.ft. lol Crosscutting is super easy as well. Cheers.
