it looks like something from the late 80's or early 90's but not from now. not sure it is the fonts used or the colors or both. I can't put my finger on the why of it but it does look dated.
try starting with just type and get that down and then add elements if needed. some times...
what you have is pretty awful. it is just type, all centered with a swoosh that seems to have no purpose but to make it harder to read.

I wouldn't use 3mm Sintra outside. I've seen it used and it breaks and cracks. the thicker stuff seems OK. I bought a blank that was 1" thick and it is holding up just fine.
Dibond works great. not sure about the cheaper stuff as I have never used it.
there are price breaks for qty's from screen printers and that is the way it works. same things with with most any type of printing. customers do get that the more they buy the less per piece they pay. you are not getting ripped off. don't ask everyone you buy from to base their pricing on...
I have to convert feet and inches so I can draw things out in my 'puter. had to re-face an existing sign cabinet that measured 5' 1 and 1/2" (61.5") x 7' 2" (86") when I looked at the 7'2", I saw it as 72" and that made the custom new faces 14" too short...errrr
what kind of business? just anything? look for a need and fill it. big line ups at the local car wash? try a car wash. no mom and pa store in a local neighborhood, small store. no doggie daycare? etc.
