  1. Gino is missing...

After seeing this I went to look for Gino...I guess he is missing/banned. Interesting to note that some of the top members (according to the "Notable Members" section) are dead, missing or banned.
  2. Your GOOGLE listing. I've had it

I have had some scam calls that are so well done it's amazing. One was that my power was going to be turned off because I hadn't paid to have my meter upgraded and if it was disconnected it would take up to 48 hours to be restored. Well the power company is upgrading meters in this area...but I...
  3. Question Customer refuses to pay, can I take his graphics down?

Collection agencies are only effective if you have a rock solid paper trail. And they take a large fee. Si,if you do, you might as well file the suit yourself and save the money.
  4. Question Customer refuses to pay, can I take his graphics down?

I don't think the cops knew what they were talking about. At a place I worked we went out and took down some sandblasted signs at night. The next day the cops were at the shop investigating the theft. We had them hidden and said nothing. They said if we got caught we would be arrested, Now there...
  5. Complaining about attitudes on S101?

I usually ignore the BS, it's not hard to do. I do miss a lot of great sign people who have dropped out of here. I have a feeling it was a combination of the snark and the repetition of questions.
  6. Vehicle Paint Oxidation - Please Help

I would try an auto detailer, they can buff with polish compound and then wash.
  7. What gives w window graphics inside?

    Contact these guys.... https://usscfoundation.org/
  8. Rounded Corners on Light Boxes

I'd give an estimate which includes the time to take out the existing faces and bring them to the shop to use as templates..
  9. Need Help Looking for vintage video footage of old school signmakers

I wonder if any of the old sign schools had movies? (Like Butera in Boston)
  10. Question Gerber Edge FX Value?

Try the Plotter Doctor. I use my edge every week, outlines on cut vinyl, spot color graphics, decals etc....amazing how much you can do within it's parameters. Right now I'm printing some reflective truck lettering with a black outline and 50 fire dept decals on reflective with transparent foils.
  11. Question Gerber Edge FX Value?

Yep, that's what a dead pixel looks like. That sucks. If you're really not into having a working edge then yes, its a parts machine.
  12. What do you guys prep surfaces with

I've run into glass and vehicles that have some kind of silicone sealer/protectorant. We have an assortment of cleaners and I don't know of one that works in every circumastnace, but the auto body prep cleaner is a good one to have available. Then clean with alcohol.
  13. Need Help Bronze Plaque with Image

"I have already spoken with Gemini and they do not have this capability"
  14. Question Gerber Edge FX Value?

Yep, run a print test with a solid block of color. Clean head first with only "pure" alcohol. I use wipes made for thermal printers. The edge is a great machine for certain jobs, and it doesn't require any maintenance in between uses, and the foils never go bad.
  15. How would I go about wrapping a water tower?

Yep, the design would dictate how to do it.
  16. Need Help 70s/Mexican Restaurant Font

Yes, hand drawn, we did a lot of that in the 70s. Loved those casual designs where precision didn't count.
  17. Large or small engine turn gold for fire trucks?

I prefer "large" engine turn for most jobs. It looks closest to the hand done size. Small engine turn looks more fake. I've done a few with florentine for a different look.
  18. Red Alumalite

I have sheeted 4x8s, but at that point just buy a 4x8 print. Or try similar materials from other suppliers as suggested. I wouldn't even discuss the mounting method with them, I would not want to have any responsibility for it. When I do installs like that I prefer slotted angle (thru bolted if...
