  1. Newbie to sand blasting

You've bitten off a rather large chunk of "stuff" as you put it. How big is your blast pot? Can your air compressor supply 100cfm? Do you have an approved positive pressure hood/mask? What about your other PPE? Do you have a source for "stone blast" media? What are the regulations in your...
  2. cut vinyl "green" alternative?

Not knowing what your clients are asking for in terms of finished product makes it hard to think of alternatives. If it is decals that are short term and indoors there are adhesive backed papers made with recycled content. We had discussed "green" at length in a college printing class...
  3. How do you handle....... Employee Fights?

At my old workplace both parties would be terminated immediately. It is a legal/liability issue to let either one of them stay. Both have exhibited violent behavior in the workplace. Here is a little tidbit the old employer used: "What happens the next time it happens and innocent...
  4. Ink spray SP 300

Could be the media. We printed some static cling that caused enough over spray to shut down the printer. What a mess.
  5. Window Tint Supplier?...

Good friend of mine uses Llumar. Does a lot of commercial buildings and cars.
  6. Seal 600 Laminator

Google search for nip roll manufacturers. Can't remember the names from my old job, but they will make anything you want if you have the money.
  7. I need 1.2 Million magnetic decals...Seriously

Start by calling your local offset shops. Magnetics get heavy in quantity and shipping will eat you alive. A good offset shop can hammer those out in no time.
  8. Truck wrap for HVAC Company / Photoshop Comp

Nice work and good use of Photoshops power.:thumb: Reminds me of college. Everyone did a prototype package and had to use the 3D and mesh tools to "wrap" the graphics onto our containers. Man that seems like forever ago. Would have to reboot the brain to do it again.LOL
  9. Roland Versacamm Contour Cut

Our SP540 will print/cut accurately until it either runs out of ink or material. Once we laminate for contour cutting it is another story. If it is lettering with holes we can usually go 5 feet long by 54" wide. Extremely simple "blob" contours(think rectangle with one rounded end)with no...
  10. Retroreflective vinyl recommendations

We've had good results with Nikkalite.
  11. SDS Drill..................

If you are going to be working up in the air get the cheaper stuff. A $300 whatever splatters on concrete the same as a $150 unit. Yes I've accidentally "air freighted" stuff from ladders, scaffold...warranty don't cover that.
  12. Hooray its working

:thumb: Nothing more satisfying at work than resurrecting a piece of equipment.
  13. Realtree camo patterns

Bushwolf from Aurora looks good. I don't understand all the hate for Aurora Graphics. For the few things I've needed they've been great. It would be more helpful to give a reason than just saying they suck.
  14. Newbie- How much do I charge??

We have 2 clients that are regulars for decals. One client we charge per square foot.(race) For another we charge per square inch.(industrial) Like Mosh said it depends on overhead.
  15. Ideas for changeable sign on a trailer

Did a batch of trucks using J-Channel. It is the type used to hang large mirrors. Perfect for holding sheets of coro or foam pvc. 3 sides of the frame were riveted with the last piece being fastened with TEK screws. If the trailer is to be towed with the panels you will need to put some VHB...
  16. Hardest Vehicle Wrap

    Interesting. Keep us posted.
  17. Bad Dog?

Ha ha The things some folks do.
  18. How to Make Sign on Craigslist

2 bulb fluorescent shop light, but I can't remember what they use for the face.
  19. Short rant...

    :goodpost:
  20. corel draw vs other software

I design on a Mac then save as a PDF or EPS. File then gets loaded on our dedicated RIP server. We use one of our old(8 years) back-up PC's. Works great.
