Get a larger, better copy if they've got it. If not blow that one up on the copier, break out the vellum and Sharpies and trace it. You should be able to get it closer than anyone should expect. Scan it, trace it, cut it.
If you're using FlexiSign it can all be entered in the "JOB INFO" section. It's a little tedious and it's easy to forget to do it, though. Recording it all at "point of sale" is a whole lot better.
Solid faces I'd pull and do at ground level. If you're going to be changing them out that often you might want to look at picking up an extra set of faces. You can letter them at the shop, go swap them out, and then you've got a month to work in stripping and relettering the others during a...
Great post....but nobody searching will ever get through the three pages of bullshit we created to get to the info you just offered up.
Maybe you should copy it and start another thread with it to save it so people can find it with a search.
Again, good informative post.
Updating with an answer in case anyone ever searches and runs across this.
Summa tech support called and walked me through resetting the plotter completely back to factory defaults. Took all of three minutes and so far the problem is corrected.
Seems that when you replace a power supply...

So much for getting back into the advertising business.
One of my beloved Summa D60 U plotters has developed the annoying habit of stopping in the middle of cut jobs, sitting for 10-15 seconds, then shooting forward 5 feet before beeping and acting like it's resetting. This is not real conducive to actually getting any work done with it.

Really? I've been absolutely pleased over the quality of their shirts. I'm still wearing the shirts I ordered three years ago and have placed several orders since then. I don't know that I'd use them for resale products, though. They do have their info on the labels so a customer can easilly...
Find a good company to sub them out to. When you can order them and have the perfect, finished product delivered to you in three days for $20 (per 1000 cards) it's hard to justify doing them in-house. Unless you're a major printer you'll never make enough profit to cover the cost of the...
I've often wondered how these people were able to sell me embroidered shirts for half the price I could buy the blanks....now I see it's because they're making all their money on logo design.
