  1. JV33 Blocked Head?

Make sure the cap top you installed has a blue rubber stopper on the third hole in the cap top. If that is not on there it will not work at all. Using a syringe and cleaning solution, push cleaning solution through the tubes that come from the cap top, through the pump and into the waste tank...
  2. Another mutoh issue, waste tank filled up overnight

That's a common issue with that model. The two main reasons it happens is a bad design on the capping station and submerged waste ink lines. If your cap top does not have a wire mesh holding the sponges down, the sponge swelled up and touched the bottom of the print head which created a wicking...

  4. eco sol max inks safe?

Straight from the MSDS, "Control the airborne concentrations below the exposure limits (5ppm). Use only withadequate ventilation." Kids and pregnant women are the most at risk for detrimental effects.

  6. They Didn't Tell Us

Unless you have a specific application for the white and metallic ink that will be a regular money making job, get rid of them and go back to a 4 color setup. The metallic and white inks always draw newbies in because they a pretty cool but no one ever talks about the uselessness of them in a...
  7. Laws regarding American Flag Artwork?

The American flag is in the public domain therefore you can only get in trouble if you copy someone else's stylized version of the flag. Using the American flag as a theme is the same idea. If there was anything wrong with it, you wouldn't see so many auto dealerships with American flag like...
  8. FC7000 plotter acting up...HELP!

A common problem I have seen on the FC-7000s is the y-axis pulley separates from itself which causes the gear to slip when the motor tries to move the cutter. Take the right side cover off and you will see the y-axis motor and a belt that goes to a gear/pulley. The pulley has a wider gear on the...
  9. Mimaki Mini Expo Tour Coming to Denver June 26th

Bump - Coming up on Friday!
  10. Near disaster averted

I had to sell a guy a new print head the other day because he left a screw on the platen after working on his machine. The head scraped across the screw and shredded the bottom of the print head. Always keep track of your parts and tools when working on your machine!
  11. white in black background

I would go with media on this one as well. Also, the spots where it is a lot lighter than it should be look like the media was buckling. Adjust your heat settings and load the media in a straight as possible to cut down on the buckling.
  12. Heater settings, any " ballpark" guidelines?

My general guideline is as hot a possible with minimal buckling. Generally for standard vinyl I am around the mid to high 30's Celsius with the post heat cranked all the way up. For banner it is a bit higher at around low 40's.
  13. Does the fans on the vj1204 always on.

The fans turn on when there is media loaded. If the fans stay on all the time, your media sensor is probably blocked or broken. As long as you can print, there shouldn't be any bad side effects. If you are concerned you can try using compressed air to blow out the media sensor.

  15. What's the best ICC profile for printing on SV480Cv3 with XR-640?

ICC profiles will print differently depending on environment, print head type and condition, media being used, ink being used and how the file's color settings are setup. For this reason, asking which profiles works for someone else is not going to do you much good. An actual example I have...
  16. doing a google search for your company...

If you aren't doing Ecommerce on your site, keep it simple and upload your sitemap to Google so they can crawl your site more often for changes and new content. Then take control of your Google places page, which is free, and keep it up to date. That should make at least the first few search...
  17. Setting up a Mimaki JV33-160 BS

People are selling (and buying) new JV33s on EBay? The Dealer code should not matter. As a Mimaki dealer, I have never had to input one into a machine and I don't even know what our number would be if I had to.
  18. Clogged line from bad ink?

Normally ink lines don't completely clog so I wouldn't worry about them as much as the head. If I were you I would flush the ink line from the cartridge area to the damper so that you get all of the ink out of the line and filled with cleaning solution. Empty the line of cleaning solution so...
  19. Sp300 wiper issue

We experimented with 3rd party wipers for the Rolands and couldn't find any that were soft enough to make it past the wiper scraper without jamming the system. We were able to cut them down but then they were too short to reach the head. We now only sell OEM wipers for Rolands for that reason.
