i dont know about most guys but ive had limited success with small text/cut letters with a print/ lam. esp calendared. i tend to print what needs printing and use cut vinyl for the lettering.
My father is a picture framer, so i use his makita miter saw with a precision carbide tipped blade. i wrap the cutting area tight with masking tape and it's always perfect.
I need perfect edges, so jigsaw/xacto isnt an option. My current supplier with a router is backed up...
Seems like someone should be able to knock these out.
Pm or post...
Thanks!
just changed my blade for the second time ive owned my printer..4+ years. unlamed 50. 3165ra and 210- starts at 150 and ends up around 200-205. i slow down the cutter to '15' in VW when i'm contour cutting print/lam. works like butter. 45deg blades.
go to the distort menu..find the arched effect you want. on my older version its third down second row. then 'flip' the effect (it shows the F's laying down opposing each other) so the arch is at the bottom.
the average stock car is gonna take a sprayable gallon of paint and maybe 3/4 gallon of clear. maybe 20-30lbs BEFORE the solvents leave. but they still have sponsors that need to be applied. the total weight for each option has to be close. maybe not with 3165ra and 210 like i use..but with real...
i would think it would be negligible over a base/clear paintjob. some guys are crazy though. we race against guys that wont paint their chassis and just wd-40 it every week to save the weight over paint/powdercoat.
