When used in conjunction with marketing, patriotism always seems like distasteful pandering to me. I think the use of religious symbols or scripture used in conjunction with business marketing of a non religious business feels the same way. Don't have a problem with either, just not with business.
It's accurate enough that I have never used backing paper. I also think that some people have a harder time than others or understand the process a little more; Ive seen spme people have issues on a machine while others don't.

We bought a US Tech. Might go against the grain but I am super happy with it. If something happened to it I would have another ordered by morning. Can't seem to make it ruin a print.
Has anyone tried 100% acrylic DTM (direct to metal) paint on die bond? I used it on some galvanized once and thought that it worked our really well. We use oil based for most stuff as well but I think this stuff actually had higher gloss retention numbers if I remember right.
I run a 1/2pt grey line 1" outside the boundaries of the banner. I like it better than crop marks in case it is a loooong banner. This is my actual cut line not the finish banner dimension. Tape to the edge, fold and go.
I give an estimate for the work and take a deposit. On the design I charge actual time spent by the hour. I keep a list of job folders up on one monitor and it has a stopwatch feature that I can click on and off and tracks the time. That includes phone discussions, opening/writing emails...
