Vector artwork or lower resolution I suppose.
  4. RGB to CMYK conversion

Reflex blue is a hard color for us to hit. We experience the opposite, when we send out one of our blues that we hit here on our 6 color Roland to have printed on a cmyk press with a converted file we end up with purple. I don't think that there is a pantone for reflex blue either, they make...
  5. Grommets or Tabs for Banners

We use 1" hem tape. Some people sew the hems but with the modern tape I haven't had any hems fail. We grommet the corners and then every two feet. If you don't hem and use tabs make sure that you use a no curl material and I would think that they would be more suitable for indoor use. If...
  6. WTF Fellers?????

Different people see the situation differently. I think that Fellers F'd up either intentionally or unintentionally, they were called to the mat on it and have removed the pricing and said that they do not market to the end user. All of my suppliers sold to me when I started up from home too...

  9. Hey Fellers and Montroy.

I received a courteous PM about the issue. Any supplier can choose any business model that they like as far as I'm concerned, I have not control over that; I do however have a choice about where to spend my money. They assure that they are not promoting or selling to the public and that the...
  10. WTF Fellers?????

OK Brian, I will take what you said at face value. Accident, perfect. Now tell me, why is the site still up? I am not normally a Fellers customer but I just met my new Fellers rep this week over the phone and had him price a 10 roll order, (his service was excellent by the way, even...

  13. 2007 Chevy Truck Tailgate Emblem

Hi Guys, Can any of you tell me how the emblem (The large gold chevrolet symbol) that sits right below the tailgate handle is attached? I'm thinking that it is not just vhb tape. Is there a perforation in the metal underneath for an attachment clip and if so how large? I would like to get...
  14. Chinese Laminator

I think that having the base square to the rollers is super importand and how you line and start the feed is everything. I have seen guys string the print from the holder to an extra bar on the back of the laminator stand and then up around the normal infeed roller. This looks like it would be...
  15. Chinese Laminator

I wish I had a take-up on mine too. I set a folding table behind it and wind the out-coming print onto a core. We rarely laminate pieces longer than 32' though. We have a 100' print on the board though, it would be nice for that. Honestly I have had 0 problems with mine. I haven't used many...

  17. How do you guys heat your shops in the winter time?

Yes, that is typical of heat pumps. If you have weather colder than 20 you typically have a secondary source of heat. When above 15-20 though the heat pump saves you a ton compared to regular electric.
  18. Didn't expect this

Note to self: 651, not a good thermo-conductor.
  19. Who here started in their garage?

The most important thing that I could offer is to not operate like you are a 'garage shop'. It doesn't matter where your equipment is located; you still need to produce the same quality, and a sign is still worth what a good sign is worth. These two things will make your transition easier...
  20. Silicone...

I will definitely look at lowe's. Hopefully it's different. The ones at HD were packaged together and they wouldn't let you substitute for the loose ones in clear. I don't use a ton of it but every bit helps.
